It's like being married. The Pats pissed me off so much last week I wanted nothing to do with them. NOTHING. Then I watched a little Globe 10.0, a little Felger on Comcast SPorts, and tonight I watched the whole NE Tailgate. Guess I've made up. I just can't stay mad at the Pats, but I do wish they'd tossed downfield more and attacked the Colt's weakness.

So ......

Looks like we will be without Jordan or Morris, so it seems to be the same cast of characters.

For the Bills, I'm hoping that JM learned from his mistake and will go deep. I know the Bills defensive backfield is in better shape than the Colts was last week, but I still believe Cassel can hit the throw.

I assume all you guys who were so enraptured with last weeks game plan that you called it perfect, and went beserk when I said it could have been a lot better are not ready to switch sides yet? You all still think not going deep is the way to go?

Careful, the crazies here will soon brand you as irrational and not credible for daring to criticize their OC God in any way. They will also question your patriotism and then brand you a commie.

Remember, in bizarro world it was a perfect game plan to call a draw play on a 2-pt conversion against a small fast D, and to only go deep once all game against a horrible secondary.

Stop their run.

Thats it.

The Jets' Kris Jenkins was able to collapse the middle of Bills' offensive line. The result was no hols for Buffalo's running game; Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson combined for only 31 yards on 16 carries. Would love to see Wilfork do the same, and put Edwards and the Bills in to predictable plats. With Josh Reed out, the Pats should have two backs on Lee Evans at all times. If the Bills are going to beat the Pats on a pass, force them to go to James Hardy or Roscoe Parrish.

Offensively, keep it balanced. Go after the replacements to players out with injuries (CB Ashton Youboty, SS Donte Whitner, DE Aaron Schobel) and also LB Kawika Mitchell, who will play on a bum ankle. Force their backups to come up with plays. With Schobel out, let's see if Cassel has enough time to throw a couple of deep balls off a play action early on the backups in the Bills' secondary.

This board definantly has homer issues, as any board does. But did you not watch the game? They were just waiting for that deep pass. Do you guys really think you see more than an OC?

I'd like to see Faulk and Welker matched up against Mitchell.

The one time they threw deep Gafney had beaten the coverage. The Colts had only 3 CBs dressed and one was on the street three days earlier. In that situation, it is dumb not to test out that secondary. Every long pass doesn't have to be good. But the threat of a long ball opens up the short stuff. Even if it doesn't work.

That's why you keep running the ball even if you only get 2 yards a pop. The threat of a run keeps the defense for keying on passes.

You HAVE to have a balance. A one dimensional team in today's NFL is a losing team.

It was one thing weeks 1-4 when Cassel was getting the feel of the pocket, etc. He has shown he can throw down field, and if we go into the Bills game with the same plan the result will be the same.

I know Mo has the quick answer of you can't go downfield every time, but I'm not suggesting that. I'm saying you need a balance.

As far as seeing more than an OC, what do you need to see not to try to run a draw against the fastest defense in the NFL. They have a light fast line, we have big heavy line and runner and blockers.

Sometimes OCs outsmart themselves. "They'll never expect this." No, JM, they won't. They don't think anyone would be so stupid as to run that.

No one is perfect. We all make mistakes. If you never make any mistakes, you are playing too safe and need to find the limits of what you can do.

But you need to learn from mistakes. That's why I'm hoping JM is smarter that you give him credit for. I'm hoping he will review and see what worked and what didn't and figure out why.

And do something different.

Kill the Bills..crush them beneath our feet...listen to the lamentation of the women

Shoot, I'm homer central. Have you rad any of my posts. To me, the Pats have done nothing wrong in years. The players they let go weren't that good. They keep what they need.

I approved of shipping our Meion Branch and who needs Asante and his big money demands. He isn't doing that good in Philly anyway.

But even though all our draft picks and UDFA signings are top notch and the FAs we sign are perfect signings, I have to say that we should have won the superbowl and we should have beaten the Colts, and for the same reason: unwillingness or inability to make in-game adjustments. That is how we won earlier this decade.

In space no one can hear you scream about the gameplan

Thats it.

The plan for both Buffalo and the Pats is stop the run and make

the quarterback win the game. The Pats will rely on four and

five yard passes and try to play ball control. The Bills will test

our porous pass defense with longer passes.

Jim my man, you should try watching a Patriots game this season.

Bills pass rush may not be so good this week. if so
PAT O:
Cassel should have time to make 2 maybe 3 reads reads most of the day.
Moss should have time to get deep and if that draws double coverage
it will open things for Wes and Gaf and TEs.
if Bills go nickle then PATs run game should have success.

PATS D:
1. Keep Evans well defended
( it will take two defenders no one defender can do it)
2. Don't give up the middle to Lynch
3. Get pressure on Edwards.

If PATs can do this they can contain this offense to 17 points or less.

PATs Special Teams coverage units may have a tough day. They need to be extra sharp or Bills will have very good field position all day.

I am also a big homer, but when it comes to repeated curious play calls throughout a 3-year body of evidence, I begin to question the talent of the OC. He comes into games with an above average game plan, but is horrible at in-game adjustments, and also out-smarts himself way too much.

As a matter of fact, my son and I will be in Section 328 tomorrow.

This will be our 4th game this year (Ravens, Chiefs, Rams, and Bills).

Other than a few long passes, the Pats have stuck to a short passing

game most of the time.

Another thing the Bills have been often victimized by this season is the swing pass to a running back slipping out of the backfield. Those plays have been going for big yardage against Buffalo. Kevin Faulk could be in line for a big day tomorrow.

Great I'll be in Sec 110. Maybe the view of passes 'over 4 or 5 yards' is better from that angle. Bring proper eyewear.

Check out this breakdown by a Bills fan.

I checked my brain after he said Cassel is prone to making mistakes under pressure, but it's an amusing and Bills-homerific read. If we're drinking the kool-aid here, this dude's mainlining it.

Buffalo @ New England Preview First Time Caller, Long Time Listener

Excerpt:

Running Backs: Buffalo Bills: Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, New England Patriots: Kevin Faulk, BenJarvus Green-Ellis

Sure, the Pats are 7th in rushing yards per game. Buffalo, as started earlier, is 26th. Sure, a normal person would give the advantage to the Patriots, who wouldn’t right?

Me. That’s who.

The Bills offensive line has been less than stellar this season, we know that. Here is the thing though, Buffalo has to have a break out game here. Marshawn Lynch, at least is supposed to be, a premier running back in this league. Up to this point, he hasn’t exactly shown the flashes of brilliance that he did during his rookie campaign. This ends on Sunday. New England’s linebackers are old and getting older, which should make them prone to the power and speed combination of Lynch and Jackson.

On New England’s side of the ball, I could not be less impressed with their set of running backs. The Pats offensive line has been just as dismal as the Bills leading into this week. I am crossing my fingers, taking a double shot of Jameson, and taking the Bills here, too.

Advantage: Buffalo Bills

LOL

Bills fans, the gift that keeps on giving.

Man are they gonna be pissed if we break their record of losing 4 SuperBowls in a row, or what?
