We do need Morris or Jordan back and at least one of O'Neal or Lew Sanders at near 100%.

With the running backs that were on the field today, we are critically limited.

We are in a dogfight for the division and a wildcard position. That's a fine spot to be in given that we have lost Brady, Maroney and Harrison. The bad news is that with the team out there today we probably shouldn't be a betting favorite to make the playoffs. I think a couple of healthy players, we have an excellent shot at the playoffs. I think that we need to at least split with all our division rivals.

We do need health at RB, but we need talent at CB. Trotting out never-will-bees like Wilhite & Richardson vs. Gonzalez was a joke.

But that's cool, cuz we just re-signed Jason Webster. Whoop-de-damn-do.

Because clearly you've seen enough of Wilhite to project that he'll never amount to anything. The kid's a rookie, FFS.

Both Wilhite and Richardson are relative unknowns. Both are young and look promissing. To dismiss them as never-will-bees is foolishness. Following that logic, Guyton and BJGE wouldn't have been given a chance to prove themselves either.

Hopefully, the injury bug will have ridden its course by later in the year...better to be healthy than as opposed to be all banged up entering the playoffs.

The coaches appeared to have seen enough of Wilhite on Sunday night. Was he even on the field during the 2nd half?

CB is a position in dire need of a talent upgrade. I would make a serious run at DeAngelo Hall after he clears waivers. He's automatically > Willhite & Richardson.

I don't know about automaticly. One would think he is and with a training camp and time maybe it would be true. But the numbers I have read about him this year are staggering I read somewhere (it might have been the globe) that he was beat like 40 times out of 60 in 8 games for the Raiders. So with out being coached up on our system and his role you could expect more of the same. Maybe if we had some time to work with him we could get a good player but turning Hall around in days rather than weeks and months might be a miracle even for the best Coach, BB.

I agree having Morris/Jordan in the offense makes it much more potent, but I wouldn't hold my breath on having them back on a consistent basis.

I wouldn't say the run game is 'critically' limited either without those 2. It's not dominant but last Sunday BJGE and Faulk helped keep Manning off the field. Our offense was almost flawless other than Gaffney and Thomas, considering the shortened game and less possessions. If not for the bonehead screwups, our offense puts up at 23 points, maybe 27 if BB doesn't call that timeout. Plus we win easy if the defense makes a stop or 2 in the red zone. Against St Louis we just never gave the run game a fair shot, BJGE only got carries on obvious short yardage run situations.

CB is a definite worry right now if Wheatley is missing extended time. I honestly wouldn't mind bringing in Hall if he is willing to take a paycut. Who the hell else?

Law, if he's in shape. Knows the system at least as it usta be. Only have to pay him for less than half a season.

I wouldn't mind that, if their asking prices are even yes I would prefer Law. But we don't know what Hall is looking for yet, he's disappointed his whole career and who knows he may sign for cheaper on a team/system he can succeed.

Faulk's durability worries me if he has to keep carrying a heavy load. So yeah, I'd like to see a Faulk alternative better than the E brothers.

I am struggling for the appropriate word to characterize the position that we are not 'critically' limited later in the season with Faulk, BJGE and Evans as our running backs.

OPTIONS
delusional
a person with zero memory of the last two playoff runs
a person with no memory of what happens when Faulk gets to many reps

==========
I have been impressed with BJGE, special situation, running back. It is not about giving him a "fair shot". Players do not "deserve" playing time. When the snow flies, we will need more at running back than we have right now.

And may I add a "D'oh!" as LaMont Jordan is MIA at practice again, at least during the media portion.

Quick healer, eh?

Fair points; but as long as The Price is Right - i.e., the vet min + incentives, then I think that he's worth the risk.

What is a joke is people like yourself who call rookies "never will be's". Maybe you should stfu and give Manning a bit of credit for the throw. It was in a place that NO defender was going to get to it.

Just because they took him out for a single half doesn't mean a damn thing. It means that in that particular game at that particular time, they decided that Richardson (who is taller and stronger than Wilhite) would be a better benefit to the team covering the slot receiver, Gonzalez.

As for HALL, the guy is a cancer.

Oh, in January without a doubt we need more than BJGE and Faulk. I thought you were referring to the present time. If Morris/Jordan can't come back full time I'm sure (hope) we bring someone in. Doesn't need to be a stud but a big body who can run downhill.

I want Faulk NOT to be beaten up by Janaury.

That's why I thought a couple weeks ago we should have picked up another runner after Maroney went down. Morris and Jordan can't be relied upon. There was a thread "Who should we bring in" on this subject where I expressed that feeling, but many said we're fine with what we have and apparently BB agrees with that sentiment. Any play BJGE could have a freak injury and then what do we do? Run n shoot? Might work if we still had #12 but this year, probably not.
