In Defeat, Patriots Still Win

If the prospect of making the playoffs (assumed by virtue of a division title) and winning a playoff game against the Colts with a backup QB doesn't excite you, boy your expectations are high.

It does. My point is, it's not the same as almost beating the '01 Rams or '07 Pats. Not by a long shot.

I don't think it is either. *BUT*, I think that it is important psychologically for this NEP team to know they can go into Indy in prime time and compete and win.

This is especially true given the last time they played a perennial playoff team (SD Chargers) in a prime time away game a scant 3 weeks prior, they got absolutely embarrassed.

The 07 Giants and 01 Pats lost close games to teams that were JUGGERNAUTS. Ok we went toe to toe with the 4-4 Indianapolis Colts, maybe we'll come back and win our wild card rematch with them. YAY

Have you ever played sports and gone against a nemesis when seemingly half your team in in the M*A*S*H? If you have, you should remember exactly what a moral victory a near win can sometimes be.
