In a game that was played very well on both sides, Who on the NE sideline do you blame for the loss on 1 play or call or maybe something else that could have decided it in our favor?

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

Bad Calls.
Faulk got the 2pt. conversion and BB shouldn;t have thrown the flag when Cassell sneaked it for a first. We should have gone for the 1st on 4th and 1.

We won that game-it was all bad luck and communication.

The colts arent going anywhere this year.

We are though!

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

Other - Wendy's boneheaded penalty and BB not wearing a gray hoodie.

I Forgot to include Thomas's stupid penalty and that may be indeed the worst moment to cost us the game.

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

Other...I blame the Colts for putting themselves in a desperate position by losing early in the season. Can we stop already with the Blamapalooza?

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

PATRIOTSFANINPA and his nattering nabobs of negativity suborning TGIAGH.

I think my blame Dave Thomas thread is the first negitive thread I have started since I called for the burning of all red hoodies back in Feb. Which actually a pretty good streak of positive posting.

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

Other: They lost as a Team.

It is easy to single out a few plays and a few people and play
the blame game. That is because it is what is most obvious to many.

But there are a lot of factors that go into a win or loss

On a win you might say it's Cassel's two TDs or Morris 140 yds etc
but all 11 guys are responsible for the points or NO points.
If one guy obviously blows it with a failed catch how is that more important
than the 4 or 5 failed blocks that caused a failed pass or a failed
3rd and short to end a drive?

Same applies to defense.

It really disturbs me to see a few of PATs players or coaches
singled out as a reason for a loss.
It is a TEAM thing and if the T E A M played better they wouldn't have
lost even with the obvious mistakes.

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

Dave Thomas.

I agree that Belichick should not have called either of his timeouts. I agree that Gaffney's drop cost seven points (well 6-8 points). However, those were errors at key times. The error by Thomas is of a different kind. If he were expendable, he'd be gone.

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

There are always multiple things you could do better. We tend to focus on the mistakes that happen at the WRONG time, but they don't necessarily hold more responsibility than mistakes at other times.

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

Other: fans and the negative energy, creates bad karma. This negative energy has now infiltrated BB's steely mind and now he's acting like Herm Edwards. If you're not a Homer, I blame you.

But it's as senseless and narrow minded as the Cassel bashing threads you railed against. There were 3-4 earlier mistakes or miscues made that collectively cost us this game. Thomas' penalty was just the last straw and had the others not been made it might not have mattered. Even on that call had we had a challenge flag left to throw on the spot of the ball we could have been at 1st and 15 rather than 4th and 16... Had we had a challenge flag to throw when Clark apparently fumbled... Had we hung onto our last TO and let the Cassel sneak conversion on 4th and 1 from the 7 stand, had Jabar caught a perfect 39 yard TD strike...the Thomas penalty becomes little more than a sour footnote on a victory if it transpires at all.

An excellent streak, but broken now, the shock of which has me woozy. I can live with being upset over a player's mental error (if that is what you think it was), but to blame the loss of a game on that one play is too far into the dark side. That's too much like the howling horrors branding Wilfork a cheapshot artist because Denver claims he elbowed Cutler in the head - the body of work is too positive and the evidence too small a sample even if you do think the very worst. Play to the whistle means just that; considering it was a noisy environment, I'm not going to fault him for missing the whistle and how many times have you seen a defender catch some love standing around a pile? It so rarely gets flagged you'd think it was a requirement to hit them.

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

Oh yea I forget it's TGIAGH's fault. Ya know, his "Adam who?" comment... only to lose on a 52-effing-yarder by Mr. Who! :D

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

I picked other. If Thomas doesn't get the boneheaded 15 yarder, we at least tie, and who knows what would have happened after that. If we had scored 7, Indy would have needed a TD and was having trouble moving the ball on our D.

I know you can't pin a loss on just one play, but that play specifically cost us a chance to tie and Indy never scored again.

It was a love tap, if anything. It wasn't like he lowered a shoulder or hit him when he was down....

I can't blame ONE ting when a number of things went wrong and could have made a difference..a LOT of ifs...and it is a team loss...ALL the team..players and coaches...but I always think that and try not to just blame one thing..the refs did not help..but they really weren't that big a favtor...

Re: Who do you blame the loss to?

I blame Sammy Morris and Lamont Jordan for getting hurt.

and I blame Tom Brady for getting is knee busted up.

and I blame Asante Samuel for chasing the money.

and I blame Bill for not going after Faneca.

and I blame Peyton for something, not quite sure yet.

and I blame Mayo for being an impact rookie.

and I blame whoever operates the roof at Lucas Oil Stadium.

and I blame Cassel for not starting in College.

and I blame the Law firm of BenJarvis Geen Ellis for not sucking as bad as he should.

and I blame myself for not wearing my lucky hat (I was tired and watched from bed).

and I guess there is a lot of blame to go around, but none of it is really relevant today.

I love watching Vince's love taps! Randy Moss not fine with refs - BostonHerald.com
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported yesterday that a DVD provided by the Pats likely saved nose tackle Vince Wilfork from being suspended for at least a week due to past illegal hits as well as the alleged elbow to the head of Denver quarterback Jay Cutler two weeks go.

Commissioner Roger Goodell was ready to hand out a game ban, but Wilfork’s wife Bianca, who was at the meeting in New York with her husband, turned over the DVD which had a different camera angle on the play. That led the league to come away with inconclusive evidence of a hit to the head.
Thomas' love-in on Mathis was sweet too.

Play genuine NFL nerf footyball with genuine Commissar Goodall approved nerf panties - but beware the "bunch" formations.

You are both right. One play doesn't make or break a game.

I find it easier to overlook a dropped ball than a dumb penalty.

I will stick to my guns on that being the worst mistake of the game. But as many has pointed out it wasn't the only and it is a team game.

Unlike another, I am not calling for the cutting or benching of Thomas. But I am pissed about that play.

Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in my starting that thread.
