I guess im in the minority based on the board today, but hear me out

1. The dink and dunk was a good game plan and pretty effective.
2. Chewing up max clock was also a key part of the plan and that made sense.
3. The part I thought was lame was the "take no risk" part of the gameplan

Take no risk was
-- running the ball on 3rd and 12
-- kicking a FG on 4th and 1
-- almost never stretching the field

IMO, the Pats did not play to win, they played to tie or not lose.
I think we can play conservatively, but also leave more room for boldness.

That's pretty much how I feel too.

We have a tall WR who is known for using his freakish jumping ability and hands to make spectacular catch after spectacular catch and, for some strange and unknown reason, this team refuses to pass him the ball when in scoring position.

Bizarre!

Being double-teamed with Sanders over the top most of the game MAY have something to do with that?

You can disagree with the gameplan, but how would you feel if they came out agressive and got blown out because Cassel got strip sacked a couple of times.

I think we are saying (w the benefit of 20/20 hindsight) that the game plan was good, but could have been bolder at certain moments. there seemed to be NO appetite to take ANY risk during the game.

I'll agree with that. What makes it more frustrating is how good Cassel looked at the end (prior to the David Thomas penalty), when they opened it up a little bit. Although that may have more to do with a tired defense, not sure.

crappy <--------------------------------------------------------------------------> game plan <---------------> Perfect

Thats how I see it it was far from perfect. But it was much further from crappy.

I agree with that, they could have not used the wildcat crap the 2nd time and turned one of those wr screens to welker to a deep pass to moss.....2 plays and maybe the game would have been different enough for the patriots to win.
