What should we do? Are there any options besides living with an even thinner CB corps or signing Papa Law* for money we don't have and he is unable to earn?

I imagine Pioli knows what's out there practice squad wise, but I guess we really don't.

It's hard to tell if coaching or ability is making the Secondary so soft. Wheatley was looking real good and then BOOM! (too much Madden last night) he's gone.

Any ideas?

*The only thing here might be that he could bring a spark or some leadership with him. But I wasn't watching when he was here, so maybe those aren't things he brings.

Wheatley was looking good last night but he's barely played this year, his potential loss hurts our upside and depth but we still have Hobbs, O'Neal, Sanders, Wilhite so we have enough guys there. Not saying it wouldn't be an unfortunate loss but it's not like if it were Meriweather where our backups are already thin.

He did look good. That deflected pass last night was clutch. Did you see how fast he closed in on that thing?

Yeah, I know. It will be a shame if he's gone. I just hope his wrist is OK long term, what that the wrist that's already largely pins ?

I did...and as usual the injury bug shows our defensive backfield no MERCY. It's so frustrating. :(
I hope that the kid is alright. He looked really good last night before he got hurt.

Is it true that his wrist is hurt? I haven't seen too much on that injury today.

He definitely hurt his wrist, it kind of looked broken the way it was dangling as he walked off the field but wrists, by definition, dangle so it's tough to say.

I hate to beat a dead horse here, but they showed the trainers jogging with Wheatley to the locker room, holding his arm near the wrist while his hand dangled freely. I'm not sure what the injury was, but whatever it was, they weren't too concerned about aggravating it.

So, are we sure it's the wrist that DOESN'T have the rod in it, then?

It almost looked like the trainer was the only thing keeping that hand from falling right off. That can't be good.

Definitely look like something broke after watching the replay, which is rather unfortunate because I liked how the kid got the start and had a couple of nice breakups on passes to Harrison.

I thought there was a noticeable drop off when he went out and O'neil came in, as he let up several completed passes (in fact I can't recall any break ups at all on his part).
