I am one of Matt Cassel's biggest critics and this guy maded some really nice throws in the end but it seems to me that his coaching staff has no believe in him making the critical throws.

Matt played a great game he was doing everything he could to make sure that we won this game, but some bonehead lost it for the team.

My biggest takeaway from Cassel tonight was that he wasn't sacked once. He moved much much better in the pocket, and seems to be developing a better sense of when to move around back there. He was also more willing to tuck it down and run, which I like.

If you're saying he's capable of being a starting NFL QB on any team, than I suppose that could be true.

cassell looked like a legit qb tonight, i just chalked it up to indy being really that horrible of a team this year

it's amazing how lucky indy has gotten

I was very impressed with Cassel. Made good, quick decisions, was accurate, had some pocket presence, etc. That pass to Gaffney was also a thing of beauty - hit him in stride at the 5yd line for an easy TD, if only Gaffney hadn't turned into Reche Caldwell for one play.

I'd like to see Moss involved a lot more, but with the 2 safeties playing 25 yds off the line of scrimmage, there's not much opportunity for a deep pass, is there.

Oh, and I'm starting to hate the slot screens, those things seem to lose yards more often than they gain anything.

I'm sold on Cassel, I've been his harshest critic and I said I would wait to see what he did on the road against a real team instead of teams like the Chiefs, Niners and Rams and he played great tonight.

I am now finally confident with him running this offense. Now if this freaking coach can stop getting in his way and WRs can stop dropping sure TDs and TE's can stop stealing defeat from the jaws of victory, right Thomas?, then we'll really be a threat with Cassel.

Good call, forgot about Seattle. I'd probably agree with Oakland, although they're committed to Russel. And Frerotte has played well (and did again today) so I doubt Cassel would start there. Tampa Bay is a toss-up.

Slowly but surely, Matt Cassel is positioning himself for a large payday.

The interesting thing with Cassel is that the improvement in his performance which we can all see with our own eyes has not translated into an improvement in his stats. That says to me he's been very unlucky, and luck always turns.

That said, my last remaining gripe with him is his play in the red zone, but that's something you just have to learn by doing.

Cassel did everything you could ask out of him. BB's management and the defense didn't do their part. If we get a few real stops on defense let alone a turnover he wins this game easily.
