This D is horrible - pedestrian if you ask me. Was the subraction of Asante Samuel the needle in the haystack?

The Pats could have kept Asante Samuel. I don't understand why they let him go...Hobbs and all our DB can't fill his shoes

Re: Pats D = Years of bad drafts, signings?

Our D was horrific but our playcalling was even more horrific today. They where driving and the playcalling was horrible in the end.

Re: Pats D = Years of bad drafts, signings?

I disagree. From my point of view they just held a healthy indy offense to 18 points without getting any pressure on Manning. A lot of the drives for the colts started near midfield too if im not mistaken

Although i wouldnt call our defense anything more than mediocre tonight. I definitely dont think that they were horrible or horrific

YEs they did.

Great draft thsi year BTW - Mayo, Guyton, Crabel et al.

Re: Pats D = Years of bad drafts, signings?

Umm, didn't we hold the Colts to under 20?

The D was okay.

The offense was okay.

Coaching cost us this game, with more than a little help from:

- Thomas
- Gaffney (aka Reche)
- The refs

Yes... a healthy Indy Offense at HOME.. 18 points..
Horrible? I think not

that D played alot better than they did in SD

you gave up 18 at indy

the problem was gaffney giving away points

The defense was not that bad. They are playing pretty well considering how many rookies are getting significant playing time.

Seriously. We have a massive influx of inexperience at both DB and ILB, and these young cats are out there competing now.

I feel rather good about the state of the Pats D and am thrilled with its potential upside.

What was wrong with our defense...I thought it played pretty well...

Right? I don't know what the standard is. The D was fine in my book, and the draft picks look to actually be good ones, especially Mayo (without annoying arguments) at this point.
