While I am fully aware that this doesn't have much bearing with the folks in Mass, I just wanted to remind you guys that if this game is broadcast nationally (which I think it is) then you should definitely try to catch it. These two teams absolutely DESPISE one another. Last year, Mark Richt told the Bulldogs that if they score, the entire team was to run in the end zone and celebrate right in front of the Gators until the Bulldogs drew and excessive celebration penalty (which they did). He said he did that to get his team in the game but it really just came off as a overly-****y gesture that turned up the heat on this rivalry to epic proportions.

This is going to be a very physical, hard fought game featuring two super fast teams with excellent defenses and excellent offenses. Florida will be attacking primarily through the air while Georgia showcases Knowshon Moreno on the ground. And when I say physical, it will live up to it's word with multiple shoving matches and perhaps the occasional fist fight. The game is in Jacksonville so I will of course be there  to watch it in person. Just letting you guys know that if you do have the chance to catch it, you will not be disappointed.

EDIT: And for the thread police, I'm fully aware this is the NFL forum. I just didn't know where else to put it.

Re: OT: The Florida/Georgia game

Yeah, this game should be intense. It's always the biggest conference game of the year for these two, but after last year it's going to be off the wall. It doesn't get the publicity of USC-UCLA, or Michigan-Ohio State, but I think that's more due to logistics (Larger cities near those schools) than anything else. It's on at 3:30 on CBS for those that are interested.

I'm a lifelong Georgia fan, so I loved the celebration last year. Richt wanted the 11 guys on the field to get pumped up and draw a flag. The entire team running out there wasn't planned (not by him, at least). It really wasn't about being ****y, it was about getting some intensity and emotion on our side. For 14 out of the past 16 games, we just lied down as Florida beat us over and over again. All the intensity we had would disappear in those games, and this celebration was all about getting that back and playing with some fire.

It worked out well for us not just in that game, but for the rest of the season. I know Florida's remembered that all year, and they'll want to beat us even worse than they usually do. It's definitely going to be a great game either way. Unless they lay 63 on our ass like they did Kentucky, in which case I'll be drowning in my tears and nursing a massive hangover into the middle of next week.

Feeling any better today? :D

I figured that would be a high-scoring, fun game to watch. Too bad for Georgia fans that Florida was the only team that did it's part to make that happen.

Well, it's the middle of the week now, and that hangover's finally gone.

Now, I'm just counting down to next year, basically.

I'm kind of surprised that Georgia is only favored by 10 1/2 against Kentucky, even though it's on the road - when you consider what Florida did to them.

Hopefully no upsets between now and the SEC title game. That's going to be a great game between Florida and Alabama. Too bad the Gators lost that one game on the missed PAT, the buildup would be even bigger than it's already going to be even with one loss.
