Looks like we can move on to the Bills right now.

Look at Matt Cassel's last eight quarters: 69 percent passing, 452 yards, almost eight yards per play, superb in this era's NFL. He's not afraid. He's also 4.7-percent ahead of Peyton Manning right now in completion percentage for the season. Not to stat you to death or anything.

The Colts have to have this game. They can't go to 3-5. They are coming off a short week, so it's a tough situation to play their nemesis. The Patriots are winning, but are they playing that well? I'll take Peyton Manning over Matt Cassel in this one.

Patriots RBs Sammy Morris and LaMont Jordan are listed as questionable for this week. RB Kevin Faulk should get the bulk of the carries against a Colts defense that gave up 77 yards to Chris Johnson on 19 carries. Colts QB Peyton Manning faces a Patriots defense that is missing Rodney Harrison (torn thigh muscle) and needs James Sanders to take better routes to the ball.

Neither one of these teams is proven. It's anyone's guess Sunday.

Novacek's Picks: Marquee wins for Giants, Colts - NFL - NBCSports.com

This isn't the same game we've been used to seeing the last few seasons. Usually it's a test to figure out ways one team could get beat. This year, it's figuring out how a team will win, because neither one is impressive. The Colts are feeling the pressure. They missed chances to beat the Titans and have to win this game to even think about the playoffs. I think Peyton Manning has to get the Colts on the board first. If he can't direct a couple early scoring drives, Indy will struggle. And if the Colts take the early lead, I don't think the Patriots can keep up. Matt Cassel isn't comfortable at quarterback, but it'll be up to him to make plays because the Patriots' backfield is so banged up. The Colts are quick enough to take away Cassel's short passes and will force him to beat them deep. I don't see him making those passes.

Pick: Colts

pats are going to get blown out in indy

pats don't travel well at all this year, as evidenced by their 30-10 loss in sd

They had already been on the west coast for like 3 weeks at that point. That wasn't anything to do with traveling, it was just a sloppy game.

As for the Countdown guys, they seem to always pick the Pats in these games. Given how much they like to trash us the rest of the year I don't really get it.

in a year where you're strggling to beat teams like the rams, and the chefs, because of loss of one of the best qbs of all time, it's pretty simple

pats will get blown out in a primetime game, that isn't in foxboro

they're just not the same pats without brady, and you'll realize that after sunday night

good luck though, i hate the colts.

Wishful thinking, and the dynasty just keeps on moving...

There are only two teams I really need the Pats to beat every year: the Jests and the Colts. A loss to either of those teams makes for a very bad week.

Winning this game would carry the added bonus of putting a nail in the Colts' coffin. Let Cassel hammer that nail in since the national media is so unimpressed by his performance to date. I don't care what the experts say, the Pats have to win this game.

Team's 2-1 on the road, and 3-1 at home. Team's been blown out twice, once at home and once on the road. I don't see where your argument has any real evidence to back it up.

Lots of teams aren't traveling well consistently this year. Some of them aren't playing all that well at home either...

What is the Chargers record this year? On the road?

We win this game, Guys and Gals.

I think Bill out coaches the Colts in this game, it's going to be a defensive masterpiece.

Now that you said that I think it will be a "defensive masterpiece". he did try out some positions swaps late in the Rams games and should help in the comign Indy game. Well hopefully the Defensive line cause some trouble to help the backfield as well
