Since Halloween is closer to approaching,I ask 'Which Patriots game was the scariest you have ever witnessed or seen?'

I go with the 'snow bowl' game in 2001 against Oakland - That entire game scared the hell out of me not knowing what way it would turn out - Who knew it would be a controversial call that would all but shortly seal the Raiders fate on that day.

Your scariest Patriots game?

Your scariest Patriots game?

2008 KC at home. Our franchise's best player in team history went down during the first quarter.

I'm with you.

SB was a very close second-almost every play was like a prelude to Sept. 7th.

Other than injury ones like KC this year I'd go with the Ravens game last year in terms of the definition of a scare. We lost that game like 4 times and somehow came out alive each time. It also finished with a completed Hail Mary like 4 yards short of them winning the game and they didn't have any timeouts to complete the drive.

That whole fourth quarter was my heart struggling to stay beating. It makes me remember that I'm kinda glad we're not undefeated this year.

Super Bowl XX was scary. The Patriots were masquerading as a football team.

Your scariest Patriots game?

Game one of this season. As soon as Brady went down, I just about puked. The entire game, I honestly didn't even really care what was happening on the field. I was just praying that we'd see him come jogging out of the tunnel and back onto the playing field, but I knew it wouldn't happen, and I was afraid that we'd lost him for the year at least.

Wow how the hell could Sept 7th have slipped my mind? That was definately my most scariest with teh SB in second.

I actually think the Super Bowl was scarier. At least we still had a whole season ahead of us to watch on September 7th...the Super Bowl was a horrid ending to a terrific season, and it was THE END. No next week, no redo.

Getting back to that point (18-0) again will be a 1 in 1,000,000 shot. But Brady will be back next year and we still have this year, which may give us some big suprises. So SB 42 wins for me.

I couldn't sleep for two days after the Super Bowl. When Brady got hurt I was very bummed, but I knew there was still alot of football to be played.

Houston playoff game 1978. I was drunk , in the uppermost seat , and freezing my a!! off.
Watched the Pats get killed.

The game on Halloween back in 2004 against the Steelers.. Where the Pats had like 3 starters out and then lost Light and Law and several others.

Blowing the 21-3 lead in the AFC Championship Game at Indianapolis.

That still kills me.

1976 playoff game vs the Raiders; it's one thing to blow the perfect season (last years Super Bowl) or blow the biggest lead ever in AFC or NFCCG history (2006 vs the Dolts), but it's another to have a game absolutely stolen from you by one of the worst if not the worst calls of all time by a ref who basically came out and said the game was in the bag for the Raiders.

Easy- the San Diego divisonal playoff game in '06. Yeah, we pulled it out but the week leading up to it....I couldn't convince myself that we had a chance. SD was really impressive that season and I thought LT was going to score 4 TD's (he had done VERY well against us up to that point). We had the dynamic duo of Gaffney and Caldwell at WR with no real running game. I just thought we didn't have the horses. And the offense really stunk it up through 3 quarters, and Brady (nearly) threw the game-sealing INT. It was a miracle we won, but the game itself just gave me chills.

As for SB42- never doubted the Pats would win until Tyree's catch. Rough minute of football.

9/7/08 - I was at the game, glad we won, didn't really know what was going on w/ Brady.

Definitely the game I think of with Halloween. I figured Big Ben and the Steelers would be exposed as frauds, and that 21-3 halftime beating and all the injuries made me wonder if the Pats had an answer for a team that good. I am actually amazed I wasn't gunning handfuls of candy at the little kids who started coming to the door after that game.

This would have been a tuff one if you'd asked for the second scariest game. But the "all time SCARIEST Patriots game" is kind of a no brainer: Sepbember 7, 2008.

Next question.
