LaMont Jordan back at practice

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots' running back corps received a boost today with the return of LaMont Jordan to practice.

Jordan has missed the team's last three games with a right calf injury.

Today's practice was held inside the Dana-Farber Field House and players were in shells (light shoulder pads) and sweatpants. The pace of the drills was high during the time media members were present.

Players not spotted at the media-access portion of practice included:

  • CB Ellis Hobbs
  • RB Sammy Morris
  • OLB Shawn Crable

I hope this is pre-cautionary.:(This team needs Hobbs on sunday.

Good to get Jordan back
Sux to have Hobbs out but maybe a few days off will actually allow him to heal up.
I really hope his injury is something that can heal up unlike last years which required surgery to fix.

Hobbs did tell the media that tests postgame were negative so hopefully it's just a hurt shoulder and not injured at all. If that's the case he rests it since there is nothing to operate on...yet. Anti inflamatory and tub time. He knows the defense and the opponent well enough to skate until Friday and let the backups get the practice reps.

It would be huge if Jordan is back. I wasn't expecting Sammy for another week or two.

As long as Hobbs lower body is not affected that is a great thing and hopefully the shoulder doesn't become too problematic this year.

I hope they're being careful with Hobbs. Absolutely huge to have Jordan back, with Sanders back for them we're going to need to come at them as close to 100% as possible.

I would rather have them at 100% during the division games and let the back-ups get some much needed experience for the Colts game.

Jordan's return is the best news all day:rocker: Hobbs sounds like he'll be ok-I wish he'd play but maybe he needs the time more. Anyway, GREAT to see Jordan back!

Even though the Colts' offense has been off this year, facing Manning without Hobbs scares the crap out of me.

I don't know, based on the recent play of the secondary, I don't know if it will matter if Hobbs is there or not. The team basically needs to pressure Manning with 4 or 5 guys and the D will be fine. If they can't get pressure, it wouldn't matter if we had Asante & Ty in their prime in coverage.

Me, too. For the first time since 2001, I feel that the Bills are a more important opponent than the Colts.

Holy bologna, Batman!

A Shoulder injury if nothing is Broken is not a significant injury for a DB. Hobbs will just need consistant help over the Top for Tackle assistance. CB's like Hobbs rely on their Speed and Quickness first and foremost anyway. So i expect him to play...i am sure they are going to shot the Soulder up before the game anyway.

Hobbs has been playing alright but the downgrade from him to Sanders and the others is less than Jordan to BJGE IMO; I'd prefer to have Jordan back and Faulk in his usual role if I had the choice between Jordan and Hobbs.

Besides which, given the way that Indianapolis + Hobbs = phantom PI calls [ :enranged: ], maybe they might be better off if he takes the week off.

Let the National Media doubt us

You think BB wants to win this game? LaMont Jordan is back at Practice...BB knows the RB trio of Lamont Jordan - Jarvis Green Ellis and Kevin Faulk is better than the duo of Jarvis Green Ellis and Kevin Faulk. It's going to WAR Sunday Night...watch out!

The downgrade may be from Hobbs to Wheatley rather than Hobbs to Sanders, I believe Wheatley has taken Hobbs' spot when he has come out for injuries the last couple of games.

Sanders has been dinged up too, not sure exactly when it happened. Anyway, if there's no Hobbs I expect Sanders would be on Wayne with help and O'Neal on Harrison. Probably Wilhite against Gonzalez. Of course, it's not all straight man to man but conceptually that's how I see it. Not real pretty but we're going to have to be able to run the ball.

I think I saw Wheatly come in for Hobbs once but I am pretty sure most of the time Wheatly has seen has been as the dime.
