BB via Reiss said:
"Going back to Manning for a second, if I'm not mistaken he hasn't been on the injury report all year, other than maybe one day right at the beginning of the season. I'm not really sure what injuries you're talking about. He hasn't been listed on the report all year, so I'm assuming he's not hurt."

Might he be getting crap for his reports and just pointing out to the NFL other descrepencies?

is he calling out the Colts for their injury listings?

or is Peyton just healthy?:D

Re: Is this a dig at the Colts - BB quote came from reiss

Billy boy is clearly making an issue of the league's faux injury report fiasco. BB's only problem here is that he's SO much smarter than Goody and the suits that in his hubris he grossly underestimated their pettiness and lost bigtime on the videotaping issue. He thought he had a defensible arguement for taping and only viewing the output later. The Jets' NFL Comissioner disagreed.

As a Pats fan I love it when BB says stuff like this. You KNOW it irks the piss outa Polian, Goodell and other control freaks.

Re: Is this a dig at the Colts - BB quote came from reiss

I don't think it is directed at the Colts. I think it could be one of two things:

1) Directed at his players: Manning is not hurt, so you need a good week of prep to beat the Colts.

2) Directed at the league: Why do you only care about MY injury report transgressions?

Note: I'm pretty sure the injury report is for bettors, and I'm pretty sure that BB couldn't give a rat's rectal cavity what bettors think about football.

I think 2

note: yes it is pretty much only for betting.....

I just listened to the audio and BB went out of his way to toss in that dig. And right afterwards the press person said last question. I am going with a very strong #2! He wants that quote on PFW. I am going to send Florio an email so he has it.

I think it is more a shot at the league than the Colts specifically.

The injury report rules are stupid and BB and throwing it in their faces. I guess he didn't have the old "Tom Brady - probable (shoulder)" anymore, so he had to find other ways to send the message.

Bits of Belichick - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

I think it's Bill's way of taking a swipe at the NFL's process of reporting injuries - and not at the Colts.

Wow Florio is a piece of Sh*t. He took Reiss' article and gave him proper Credit but than in quoting his piece he added some of his own opinion in the middle making it seem like it came from the original piece.

Florio said:
But then, when Belichick was asked a different question, he stopped mid-sentence and decided to take a jab at the Colts regarding injury reports.

“Going back to Manning for a second, if I’m not mistaken he hasn’t been on the injury report all year, other than maybe one day

Reiss said:

See what I am saying.....Florio is a piece of garbage.Consider the timing. Reiss puts out the story.....GodinGreyhoodie emails it to him......obviously not enough time for him to do any research on his own yet he still changes what Reiss said and adds his own factless opinion and puts in like it is coming from the original writer. POS

While you are correct that it is not accurate to the Reiss quote, it is accurate to what happened. He may have actually listened to the the audio. It is not a very long press conference he had time to listen to it.

Re: Is this a dig at the Colts - BB quote came from reiss

almost too quick.....Are you Florio?:D

No and he may have been on it long before I emailed it. I am guessing Florio has RSS feeds on the globe coverage of the Patriots.

If he was listening to the press conference and got the quotes direct from Bill than why quote Reiss in the first place? and especially why misquote him or mis paraphrase to be more accurate.

Personally, I think it is a shot at everyone. It is a shot at the Holier than Thou Tony Dungy who was disgusted when the Pats cheated, but apparently feel cheating the injury report is gamesmanship. It is a shot at the media who have blasted Belichick in the past for his questionable injury reports, but never question Saint Tony even when he puts half the team on the report as questionable. And finally, it is a shot at the league who have looked the other way at allegations of cheating by every other team beside the Patriots (did the league even acknowledge Kerry Collins' admission of collusion between Jeff Fisher and Tony Dungy last season?).

Re: Is this a dig at the Colts - BB quote came from reiss

Wow that was quick.

Yeah, I've sent him a couple. He doesn't waste any time working for his stories, that's for sure.

Agree. This is a shot at other teams in the league, the league itself, and the media. And it's awesome.

The only reason I can think of is b/c of Florio's rumor mill style his stories have a greater level of credibility if they are linked to mainstream press stories. I know I put a greater level of creditability in his stories if they are linked to something else.

Wow. And I thought ESPN and the Boston Herald were bad

Apparently, BB took a dig at Manning. Fannation at Si immediately posted the following. Read the article first then read the comments. F-ing fantastic. It's almost to the point that it's hilarious at how bad the media is collectively grasping at straws for anything to throw dirt on BB's name...

Best reply so far.... "Man, where do I sign up to be a sports journalist? No offense, but it kinda seems like an easy job... "
