Is Sander's expected to be out next week when we play in Indy? I hope so. Obviously the defensive player of the year will make a big difference if he plays.

Re: Bob Sander's Prognosis?

He's overrated, and shouldnt have been DPOTY... That should have been Jared Allen.

Re: Bob Sander's Prognosis?

He may play next week, but even if he does, how close to 100% will he be? He is coming off a high ankle sprain and a separate knee surgery. Sanders probably won't be nearly as effective as he is at 100%.

Besides, knowing the Colts, he may miss another month eventhough he is supposed to be back this weekend.

Oh, I don't think he's overrated, he may be made of glass, but he's a hell of a football player.

Heh, he's only made of glass because of the devestating hits he delivers. Guy would look great opposite Meriweather with a Flying Elvis on his helmet.

Agreed. I'd love to have him on the team, minus the injuries. But, That will never happen so I have my candle in the window lit for Ed Reed.

Re: Bob Sander's prognosis?

Agreed Sanders changes Colts D but he's a cheap player. He spears with his helmet all the time even when the other player is just about down.

I disagree. The one or two big plays he makes in a game coverup the numerous plays where he is caught out of position or over-pursuing.

Overrated? The Indy defensive stats don't believe so.;)

Re: Bob Sander's Prognosis?

I don't know how anyone let alone PATRIOTS FANS could doubt Sander's abilities or call him cheap (considering we've had rodney for so many years) Sanders (when healthy) is the best safety in the league, have you all forgotten the 06 play offs? Luckily he's made of glass

The guy makes a ton of tackles inside the box that stop what other wise would be a long run. He completely changes the defensive complexion of that team.

Ok, but you are not going to find a lot of folks that will go along with that, I'm sure it happens - as it happens to all players from Time to Time, but as much as I hate the Colts and as big a HOMER I am for the Patriots, Bob Sanders is one of the best defensive players in the league when he's healthy. The ONLY Saftey I'd put above Sanders is Ed Reed, that dude is amazing.

We can agree to disagree. :)

100%, he completely changes the Indy defense when he's in.

I would imagine if you asked all the WR in the league who they would NOT want in coverage, the list would be Sanders, Reed and Harrison.

All of them hit like it's their last hit ever.

Re: Bob Sander's Prognosis?

I'd say Polamolu would go on that list as well that guy is a friggin lights out hitter

Sanders, Reed, Polamalu their all good and I would love to have any one of the - no need to debate.

MNF just said Sanders "expects" to return next week...figures.

He's overrated. Great defender of the run but isn't very good in coverage.

Two yrs ago he was injured for 6 wks, came off the injury list to play against us, and went back on the injury list til the play-offs. Count on him being there.

I think if you look at the game it's implications - none really - Then look at the fact that Indy is now is a huge hole they need to dig out of to get to the play-offs, if I was Dungy there is no way I would play my best defensive player and risk him getting hurt again - Which is GOING to happen because Sanders is made of glass.

It was different two years ago. The Colts and Pats were clear division winners that year and the Colts needed that game for seeding in the playoffs. This game isn't the same thing. This game is no more important to the Colts than any other conference game.
