Mike Wright's snaps so far this season:

game 1 (KC) - 11/63
game 2 (NYJ) - 16/50
game 3 (MIA) - 9/57
game 4 (SF) - 16/50
game 5 (SD) - 38/59
game 6 (DEN) - 20/60

Some pretty good playing time, he's been in the nickel/dime packages quite a bit, rushing the passing and I've noticed him getting some good pressure on the QB. I imagine he had a fair # of snaps yesterday. Overall, I think he's very underrated, and I think the impact of his injury last year might've been underrated.

I agree. Also, Wright is likely to be starting for another team in 2009.

He's definitely someone whose snaps should increase if he keeps showing the same kind of production is rushing the passer.

Well those numbers might go up if Wilfork gets suspended.

Mike Wright is a player. Plain and Simple. He does whatever is needed. For the 1st couple of years he was on the team, he was a special teams ace on kickoffs. I loved seeing him running down and blowing up the wedge and then making the tackle or allowing someone else to make it. Then he got injured and he hasn't been the same since. Neither has the kick coverage unit. Though it has looked good at times.

If we dont have Wilfork on sunday we'll need Wright to step it up a notch. Damn its monday and im already nervous waiting on what will happen on sunday

Yeah I used to watch him all the time on STs. SOmething about a 280LBS+ player running down field almost as fast as the LBers that is fun to watch.

I like WRight and think he could replace Seymour when his contract is up. Seymour gets such a low salary next year that I don't think they'll cut him, but after that, when he's offerred 'only' 3m per year, he probably retires.

AHHH WTF.

Seymour is starting to dominate again we might want to keep him but if we for some odd reason decided not to I don't think he is at the point where retirement is on his mind.

I hope the Pats take action to prevent this. If he's playing between 10-30 snaps a game, then he has good value for us. He's flying under the radar, and he's making impact on plays that don't show up in the stat sheet. He's been getting consistent pressure, but has only yielded one sack so far. I would think maybe the Pats can re-sign him at a reasonable price.

I'm thinking he is on Mangini's radar for one.

Not easy to do. Green is the only guy I can think of who signed to return as a sub here when he could clearly start elsewhere.

I think most of us assume that the aforementioned radar is attached to a plane that has run out of gas and is waiting to crash and burn on impact.
