Here's the thing: my brother and his wife are both medical students at Michigan State (actually at this point they've both graduated and are doing their rotations, etc., all that jazz between the school part and the actual becoming a full-fledged physician part.) Anyway, ever since he started going to school there he's been trying to get me to go over there for a Spartan home game, and every year something comes up and I've never been able to go, until this year, when I'm finally flying over there for the their game against Purdue on Nov. 8.

So last night bro calls and says, "The day after the Spartans game, do you want to go to a Lions game?" At first I was all  , because bro (unlike me) never abandoned his cheesehead roots and still roots for the Packers. But with how god-awful the Lions are this year, the tickets are going for 25-30 bucks.

On the one hand, it'd be something to do, and it's hard to beat going to any NFL game at that price. Plus both bro and me think it would be cool to see Ford Field. And it's against the Jaguars, who I've never seen before (I've already seen the Lions when I went to the Packers-Lions game at the Silverdome 10 years ago - saw Barry Sanders in his last season!) That, and it might be fun to just go to a game where I don't really care who wins. Finally, last year I went to the Pats-Browns game, and the way the Lions are going this year I could tell people that I saw both the only team to go 16-0 and the only team to go 0-16. :D

On the other hand, the Pats play the Bills that day, and for the first time in years that game may actually mean something. (Then again there's no guarantee that game will be on the CBS station where they live, though we could probably find a bar showing all the games.)

Thoughts?

DISCLAIMER: The purpose of this thread and poll are solely to gauge the opinions of other Pats fans and see what they might do in this situation. I am not that much of a wishy-washy indecisive putz that I need to consult strangers on the Internet to make up my own mind. I think I've made my decision anyway, now that I think about it.

Id go if I were you, watchin football games live are hella fun even if it's not your team playing...

I'd go. My goal was to see all 32 stadiums, although so far I've only seen three (Foxboro Stadium, Gillette Stadium, Sun Devil Stadium). So if you go you can cross one off of your list :verycool:

Your goal was to see all 32 stadiums, your talking past tense so I take it you've been to em all?

If the Pats game is on at the same time, go to the game and bring some earbuds with you. If the Pats game is on afterward, go to the game then find a good bar to go watch the Pats whoop some ass.

i would go, anytime you get to watch a live game it is an incredible experience, so go and enjoy it regardless of the team

Yeah, go to the game and have a good time. If the tix are that cheap, it's more than worth it.

Ticks are cheap enough, and if it didn't interfere with the Patriot Game, I might go. If it did, I wounldn't. I'm not a huge fans of going to one game and listening to the other, specially if the Pats are "the other".

I hate tivo'ed games if I know the result too, so for me, it would depend on the Patriot game. If not, what the heck.

lions?? no thanks. you would be better off watching college football

Why not go?

Its like getting 2 for 1 - Going to a football game and attending a comedy show in the same day - The Lions are a comedy act although they don't mean to be ;)

I got company tickets to the Bengals Steelers game last week. It was....amusing I guess. I'd go if I were you. No matter who's playing, it's still an NFL game and if you don't have anything invested in either team, you can just go for the experience.

The only difference is it didn't mean having to miss a Pats game. I still would have gone anyway, but that's because I was hosting some employees as a thank you for a project they worked on.
