Check out this preview of Donkeys-Pats at SportingNews.com.

The Bottom Line
The league's good teams are going to continue to wreak vengeance against a Patriots squad that was considered arrogant in recent years. The Chargers did it last week, and now it's Denver's turn. The Pats' only hope is Belichick's track record of not following bad outings with more bad outings. That was when he had Brady, though. The Broncos simply have too much firepower with Cutler and top receivers Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal. Once Cassel has to play from behind, the Patriots will have virtually no shot of winning. If Pats fans thought last week was bad, this week could be even worse.

Scoring prediction: Broncos 38 - Patriots 13

I dunno, but did anyone use the word "arrogant" to describe the Patriots before last year?

Oh, BTW--for extra tasty schadenfreude, note who wrote said article.

How can Tomase still be employed? I wish I could be so terrible at my job and it not matter.

He also picked Miami...supposedly...I think he's what he is a Patriot hater..and SCUM!! Not sure why ANY rag would peddle his manure..knowing what he tried to do.. To me any rag that would hire him is pretty poor...

The guy has an axe to grind after the whole Spygate thing. What he doesn't understand is that he brought it 100% on himself. I would never have ready anything with his byline before, and I still won't.

Those rags don't take the opinions of PatsFans.com into the matter. Those rags simply look at someone who is a Pats beat writer working for the biggest paper in the city, then hire him. Pathos: I used to be a journalism major before I realized that it's a dying field. This reason alone is why the field is getting more and more sensationalist everyday.

Why give him the clicks and therefore more employability? It was Tomase.

Not to toot my horn or anything but I won the predict the score contest last week with almost the same score but teams reversed. 38-10 Pats. This guy should be fired and I should be hired to take his place (that is unless you look at my other predictions)

The OP is secretly Tomase

Ummm . . . NO. If, for some God forsaken reason, I actually were Tomase, I'd be begging SportingNews.com to delete that piece of offal.

Maybe it was a typo and he was closer than we think... lol.

It has NOTHING at all to do with the site..and MUCH to do with integrity..Tomase's LACK of it. Apparently these rags son't care about that which is pretty poor. He fabricated a story..lied about it and was basically FORCED to apologize..THAt is pitiful. If the Sporting News cared..they wouldn't hire him or even think of that given his shenanigans..My opinion of the SPorting News and in fact I HOPE others..has gone down with his hiring. How can anyone respect any organization that hires a writer like that?? If it was some small paprt in the midwest or far away..fine..but a respected sporting paper?? Shame on them!!

I'm not saying that I respect it or that I don't think Tomase is a piece of trash. I'm just telling you how the process goes.

GD how does Tomase still keep getting jobs? Alright so who do I call to get horse manure dumped into his car then lit on fire? Bleh. Actually I don't disagree that things looked bleak for the Pats before the donkeys game, I just hate Tomase. LOL.

It gets better this week:

Sporting News - Rams vs. Patriots - Preview - October, 26 2008

I could give these predictions..apparently beating the Cowboys with no Romo and a horrible D, and the Redskins who IMO are HORRIBLY overrated, makes St. Louis a powerhouse now..puke.

Oh look! Bad journalism too!

How will the Patriots respond to injuries? As if losing Tom Brady weren't misfortune enough (4-2), starting tailback Laurence Maroney and do-everything safety Rodney Harrison went on injured reserved this week (wonder if it's worth mentioning who went out on what side of the game... nah!). Making matters worse, Maroney's replacement, Sammy Morris, left Monday's victory with a knee injury after rushing for 138 yards in the first half. The Pats are also playing without right tackle Nick Kaczur and pass rushing specialist Jarvis Green (both back in practice but they did miss out on the BLOWOUT win). Being shorthanded is a bad thing against a team that's flying high right now. (yeah, so hopefully for the Rams Jackson can play ;))

Bulger vs. Cassel: The respective quarterbacks in this game have found themselves under the microscope all season. Bulger, a former Pro Bowler, was benched during St. Louis' atrocious start, but looked like himself last weekend (spin the positive). Matt Cassel has had to deal with Brady comparisons all season and played his best game against a porous Broncos secondary (spin the negative). All eyes will be on the QBs on Sunday. Is Bulger all the way back? Has Cassel turned a corner or were his numbers merely inflated by the Broncos?

I could go on, but what for. This folks, isn't just someone saying the Pats won't win. It's really poor writing. Shocking, huh? lol

At least we're lucky enough to have the next month's worth of predictions ahead of time too. Whew, that's a load off.

The Pats are dealing with injuries and a short week. The Rams have beaten far better competition the past two weeks. In this crazy up-and-down season for New England, this week is feeling like a loss. Maybe they suffer the same fate against the Colts next week. That will set up a matchup with Buffalo that sees everyone writing off the Patriots, only for them to beat the Bills. At which the Pats will be declared "back," before losing to Pittsburgh. And so it will go for the rest of this Brady-less season.

Jersey of the day goes to Tom asse:

You gotta wonder if Sporting News offers him a tub of ice cream for each prediction he makes against the Pats. The most recent prediction defies logic.

What you want to be is a tv weather reporter. They're right about 51% of the time.

That would be a pretty high success right for many so-called NFL "experts"
