So my fantasy team is down 12 points going into Monday night in a game in which first place in our league is at stake . Cutler is my Quarterback.

I hate fantasy football for doing this to me.

Just curious how others out there reconcile their love of the Patriots with their competitiveness re: fantasy teams.

lol, real life (meaning the pats) are priority....always

it also helps when ur not putting money into fantasy...lol

Cutler is my starter this week also. As far as I'm concerned, if he does badly for my fantasy team, then it means the Pats beat the broncos. I can live with a loss in fantasy football :D

As I am only in free non money leagues.. easy .... I take the homer route. Cassel and Wes are playing for me tonight. And I need a big game out of both of them. I have the bronco kicker on the bench.

I think it's unique to a Monday night game, since if this game were 1:00pm Sunday I'd have many more chances to get points. Basically winning the matchup for me depends on a decent game for Cutler.

How about rooting for a shootout? Presuming that all that really matters for the Pats is the W. On the other hand, benching the player seems silly because if he does end up torching the Pats, it sucks twice as much for me.

It reminds me of a Red Sox fan (and gambling addict) friend I have who used to put $20 on the Yankees every night. If the Yankees lost, he's happy due to the loss. If they win, he got 20 bucks.

Only fantasy dilemna I have is what to tip at fatansies.

I would start out hoping for nothing from Cutler other than coming out of the game healthy. Of course, if the game becomes a blowout either way then I'd reluctantly start rooting for fantasy points if the fantasy game were still close.

I have Cutler, Brandon Marshall and Prater on my for profit league, but luckily I only need 5 points to win. So, one TD Cutler to Marshall and I'm set. Pats will roll from there :singing:

I stopped playing fantasy football for reasons like this. I started to watch games not by what was in the best interest of the Patriots, but for my fantasy team. It took the joy out of watching the game for me because I was too interested in stats than actually watching the game and rooting against teams like the Jets, Colts, Chargers, etc. I knew when I was jumping up and down for Manning after he passed for his fourth TD in a game that I was done with fantasy football.
