best to do this b4 a pats game, so this week is pefect...

1. people are still using the wildcat.....baltimore came up with a good defense for it, maybe the cat will begin to die now

2. what is up with the helmet catches? a new thing int he NFL? (watch buffalo game)

3. so the jets really arnt that good...neither are the fins....but both lost this week

4. the bills are a mystery...but they have to beat us twice this yr for them to take the AFC East from us....i dont see that happening, i say we take both games

5. oww, is the NFL messed up...the colts got beat by a so so team, SD is back to a losign record....

6.the top 3 seeds in the AFC last year are fighting for WC spots so far this yr

7. rams got lucky last two weeks? or is the new coach that good?

8. clinton portis is the best back in the game this yr...

9. trent edwards, matt ryan, and skins young QB are the real deal...

10. if only we had an adrian peterson, forte, barber, grant, graham, chris johnson, lendale white on this team....if only...

11. i think we can take the titans

I think the Rams always had the potential to be good, but geez, was the coaching really that bad? I guess I never gave Haslett any credit in the past. Maybe it really was coaching. If that's the case, Wade Phillips needs to go.lol.

This Johnson kid is really impressive. I get stuck watching alot of Titans, and this kid has it all. Speed, power, and he's elusive.

hmmmmm, I don't know. Without a pass rush to freak Collins out, I just don't know. They clearly have the best running game, and their defense is playing with alot of intensity. If the Pats are 'up' for the game, I think it would be a great game.

The obvious thing to me was teams that had good wins last week lost and the teams that got beat last week got good wins.

Like the colts blew out the ravens last week to get owned this week off green bay.

My only observation is that it seems that a lot of the teams play very inconsistent week by week. Like the Colts, they win big last week, and lose big this week. EDIT: Sorry previous poster, I never even read your post and it's close to yours!

It was great seeing the Fins and Jest lose this week, too bad Buffalo couldn't of lost too. A win tonight would put some more distance between the bottom 2 in the East.

Icing the kciker hardly ever works but coaches still do it and sometimes it back fires on them.

I almost died inside. Having to listen to more "Favre lobbies a comeback" talk would have made me sell my television.

Observations:

* The Pats are as good as most teams in the NFL.
* Our Backup is better than most back-ups.
* The Cowboys prove that a collection of individual talents doesn't trump a "team".
* The Bucs are a flat-out good football team.
* Peyton Manning is whiny and Brady might even outplay him during a year off, lol.
* Miami still sucks.
* We got run over by the Bolts, but that failed to prove they're better than us.
* I'm a freaking homer, just ask 50% of the poster here. :)

Are the Jet's that bad? I don't think they are - It's Mangini that suffers from suck-itis. How can a head coach suck in 2 out of 3 phases of the game?

There are really no elite teams...some ARE better more weeks than not but none like usual years...As the season goes on, there will be a mad scramble for the wild card slots in both conferences.. For once the AFC is much weaker than the NFC..The Pats will be in the mix if they can get it together a bit more...the titans may be undefaeted, but they are not a great team..neither are the Giants...Dallas has a ton of talent and like others said, not a great team; they don't jell...

If anyone wants to know why Cassel has not been cleared to just throw the ball around the field, outside of the game plan. Please see Brad Johnsons performance yesterday.

That was pretty brutal. I didn't see the PC afterward, I bet it was classic.

Yea, I saw it on the NFL Network. He was pretty unaffected by the whole thing. I think that when you have an idiot coach that asks you to throw long routes that you have not worked with the receivers on the timing, your asking for trouble - Yes, that is a slightly veiled Pro-Cassel/Pro-Belichick comment and I hope everyone gets it.

Brad's a good QB, but that's NOT his game.

IMO - They needed a game plan like ours in the Jets game - Conservative as hell and hope your talent gets you in the End Zone and the D holds.

My only observation this year is that the entire NFL is entirely unpredictable. Lots of teams, the Pats included, have a good game one week and a bad game the following week. I was in Las Vegas over the Columbus Day weekend and we lost many a "sure" bet. Carolina comes to mind. They had been playing well, and they kicked butt yesterday, but when we put some $$ on them (along with many others in the sports book), Tampa wiped the field with them. The kicker was we put some $$ on the Giants on the Monday night game to make back some of our losses as there was no way Cleveland could beat the Giants. HA!!

Stupid NLF!! Good thing I love it or I could never forgive them!

more so then college for once....

u think this season will increase the ratings? or lose em?

My observations:

1.) The Cowboys are a team that is on the track for a total meltdown. Jerry Jones may be almost as a self destructive own as Al Davis. I know Jones is the GM, but he needs to stop addressing the team in the lockerroom after the game and speaking out about Romo's availability and other matters that most GMs do not comment on. This team is ripe for an implosion and Jones has done everything possible to swipe the feet from under Wade Phillips. Jones might as well fire him and make Jason Garrett head coach now.
2.) The Colts won't make the playoffs this year. I wasn't high on them before the season, but I didn't think they would be this bad. They should be 1-5 right now. I expect them to lose next week which would almost certainly put them out of contention of AFC South barring a meltdown by the Titans. And the Titans are the worst team for the Colts to face right now with their problems.
3.) So much for the preseason hype for the Jets. I never got the hype anyway, but why did people think guys like Damien Woody (an overweight underachiever playing out of position), Brett Favre (a guy who was a shadow of his former self two of the past three years), and Alan Faneca (an aging veteran on the decline) were going to make the o-line and the overall offense great? The defensive additions have been better, but the defense is still average at best. I see this team going 8-8 or 9-7.
4.) San Deigo may not be back as annointed. I think they played the Patriots like it was their Super Bowl since they have geared their entire offseason to beat the Patriots. Now that they got past the Patriots, they may not have much left. At least for the short term.
5.) Mike Holmgren retired one year too late. I have thought the Seahawks have been overrated for a number of years since they play in a horrible division, but the Seahawks might be one of the worst teams in the league even when Hasselbeck is in there.

GREAT observations...
1---Agree...Jones is the evil 'good cop"..to Davis's bad..heading for a meltdown and a season lost..you can have many great players..but the parts do not add up..case in point DALLAS!!
2---Agreed..they were lucky to win 2, but not happening now..they are toast!!!
3---Yes, the Jets are spending money and getting only a BIT better..it has to do with value...and they have a TON of money tied up in mediocre.
4---The Chargers did what they had to with teh BIG WIN..but will be going back to SD with another..and a bye..which might be bye-bye for them!!!
5---I watched some of the SHawk game and they have regressed so so much. While many once feared that team..they are falling way way fast..and MH's return may NOT help all that much...
