This site has really grown since I first joined it. It's the first message board that I have ever joined and don't regret it.

Because of the growth, Ian has had to invest in new servers a couple of times bringing up the cost of running the site and keeping it available to you and I. This has NOT been offset by advertising revenue, which is in fact down.

He has a sticky thread asking for donations of $18 per year. But sometimes sticky threads are not viewed as much as threads on the main forum.

The $18 per year amounts to:

5 cents a day
35 cents a week
$1.50 per month.

If you feel that coming here and value that you receive is worth 5 cents a day, then maybe you should consider the one time per year donation of $18.

Here is where you donate:

New England Patriots Forums - PatsFans.com Patriots Fan Messageboard

And BTW, in addition to the new server, Ian has added a really good arcade. You should check that out and get involved in some of the tourneys.:D

Hopefully enough of you will consider Patsfans to be worth 5 cents a day and will step up and help Ian out.

As long as their money is green (or has a picture of Mao on it, as it may be), they absolutely should.

Re: What is Patsfans worth to you?

Troll money is actually red, usually indicated by the currency box under the user's post count.

bumping this up

What the heck IS that green thing anyways?

Trolls should pay double unless they are jets or dolphins fans - they should pay triple.

Homers should pay double also ... their loyalty makes for difficult discussions. :p

Re: What is Patsfans worth to you?

Trolls should get a custom user title "Troll" after they donate!

Re: What is Patsfans worth to you?

Keep bumping this till everyone donates.

Re: What is Patsfans worth to you?

Is this the thread where I should bring up how we need to fix the game day chatroom? Last year we had some great chats going, with dozens of people, in real time, without the annoyances of the game day thread.

This year, the whole thing has gone down the tubes since the chat room was changed and the new one just doesn't work.

:(

But I love the board and will donate. :)

Speaking on behalf of the Homers, there is no way you can remain a Homer and not sign up. It's just doesn't fit.

In theory but not in practice.....

I will fix it. I'm going to have to delete it and reinstall it. I'll do it today :)

Signed up last night. Still waiting for Gisele to deliver my decoder ring. :D

Re: What is Patsfans worth to you?

I'm with you all. The Herald is $.50 per day (well $.75 for me up here)... and I much prefer clicking cnn.com and patsfans.com for my morning coffee! I'm saving money and don't have to read articles from Patrihaters... well, usually anyways!

Re: What is Patsfans worth to you?

while the Homers dominate the board, i think even the whiners or dare-i-say middle ground can pay for this fun site.

it is fun to discuss the fact that BB is both a HOF coach, and also a human who makes some big mistakes. (Homers, cover your eyes)

Re: What is Patsfans worth to you?

If someone enjoys a place and frequents it a lot, gets to know the people there etc; when the owner says he could use some support then you do your best to give him that support.

Bump :)
