Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

Is that... allowed? Weird.

Favre is a loser.

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

I doubt it is illegal.

I know for a fact that the QB of the Colts and QB of Giants frequently exchange advice.

I also know that players are often picked up off waivers to be pumped for information regarding their former team.

It would neither bother me nor shock me, if Norv and Bill spoke this week regarding their thoughts on Denver and Buffalo. As victories for the other team is in each's mutual best interest.

What is troubling about this is, it means Brett is a vindictive [words that would be filtered out]. Who is the process of destroying the love that wisc residents have for him.

sure .it happens all the time when teams have common vested interest but
a)its never out in the open
b)favre has nothing to gain by DET beating GB other than a personal vendetta.

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

WOW about sums it up. It's one thing for guys to talk among themselves (the enemy of my enemy is my friend). QB's talk, coaches talk, mostly based on prior personal or professional relationships. If somebody he has a relationahip with calls him for advice that's one thing - you give it depending on it not impacing your teams chances going forward. But for him to call FO personnel of a team or teams his former team is facing basically soliciting an opportunity to impart advice smacks of the self absorbed, vindictive a-hole posing as just a good ole boy I have come to believe he is.

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

Hey look on the bright side. I am glad he did it. He could have spent that time learning the NE blitzing schemes instead.

I hope he spends most of week 11 helping the Bears get ready for GB.

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

Maybee he should have spent week 2 focus on beating the Pats than his former team against the Lions;)

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

here is the link to glazer's article

FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Sunday Scoops: Is Favre guilty of insider trading?

Several sources have told FOX Sports that Favre earlier this year phoned the Detroit Lions prior to their battle versus Favre's old team, the Green Bay Packers, and gave them a rundown of the nuances of what Green Bay does on offense. According to the sources, Favre actually spent over an hour on the phone with Lions coaches, who were connected with Favre by then-team president Matt Millen.

espn will bury and the media like dan patrick will say its a rumor but glazer is usually dead on with his scoops.

If this is true, or at least if people in GB BELIEVE it's true, BF is playing himself out of immortality. I don't like him, so that's OK, except that I think GB fans could have used this.

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

What do you expect from a guy who created that whole massive Summer soap opera out of a stubborn desire for personal vengence? Remember, the Packers were always willing to trade him outside of the conference--even the division. But Favre's words were: "If you won’t let me play for you, let me play against you."

Nice thank you to the loyal Wisconsin fans who bought his jerseys all those years.

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

Too bad Goddell is more than likely going to let this pass by instead of doing any sort of investigation.

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

i wonder what the nfl rulebook says on this. my understanding is teams share information a ot

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

Favre may be one of the greatest QBs of all time, but he has shown his true colors as the scum of the Earth. He may dupe gullible media personnel like Peter King and John Madden, but he is nothing more than a spoiled brat premadonna.

If this is true, I don't know how this cannot be considered cheating. It is far worse than Spygate.

However its Lord Favrequad who can't do no wrong even when he does do wrong.

No
Like, what rule was broken?
None
Just have to contain ourselves that yes, Lord Faavre is a complete self-absorbed ****

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

I don't see a problem with it, personally. I remember a few stories on Peyton helping the Giants, and specifically Eli, get ready for the Super Bowl.

Of course. It's routine for friends and family in the league to ask one another for advice about mutual foes they know well. But the accusation here is something more. Favre apparently went out of his way to give an extended discourse of inside information about his own former team to another team he didn't give a crap about just out of pure vengence. We're talking about vindictively sabotaging the team that treated him like royalty for 15 years, the teammates who played beside him in the NFCCG last year, and the fans who adored him.

Nah, he didn't break any rules. Except the unwritten rules about non being a self-absorbed jerk.

Yeah, and I don't have a problem with that. Peyton never wore a Patriots uniform and the two of them are brothers.

But this would be like Asante Samuel calling up the Jets this year and telling them what they need to do to beat the Patriots. I would expect AS to help the Eagles beat the Patriots, but not call another team to do so.

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

You both make pretty good points...I hadn't thought about it like that.

But, Favre just showed the Jets what he leads the NFL in doing, so I am not going to get too upset about it. :D

Re: OT:Favre helped lions prepare for packers

Brett should have spent that 90 minutes studying film of the freakin' Raiders...
