Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

Romo is no Tom Brady

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

Get used to it. The by product of having the greatest football team in the history of the game means that group will be compared to teams for a long long time.

you are correct sir......

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

Yeah but Ellis Hobbs is no Pacman Jo...

Never mind.

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

Romo is no Tom Brady

And at 40 Brad Johnson is no Tony Romo, not that he ever was. And even when Romo is back to snuff it will take weeks to calibrate his weapons, provided of course one of his big guns doesn't self destruct in the interim...

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

Owens and Moss, fine. There is a reasonable basis for comparison. In 2006 they had Glenn (70 receptions), Owens, Witten and Crayton, so how is this radically different than 2 years ago for the Cowboys? I don't remember those records. I guess the answer is blame it on Bledsoe for those first 6 games.

The Patriots didn't necessarily stock primadonnas to generate their offense last year (Moss is the only receiver fitting that label when the Pats signed him), so I would venture a guess the answer may not be to put multiple receivers pouting and screaming "get me the ball" on the field at the same time, regardless of ability. And yes, with Romo's finger broken, he will either be making mistakes or not throwing the ball at all so this "prolific" offense won't go into gear until potentially Week 11.

Somehow comparing the Cowgirls to the 07 pats is nothing more than envy. I dont think they'll be a team like our 07Pats. Like Hobbs said "it was magical and special". Not even that future Pats will not be like 07pats ... imo

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

That article pised me off. They shouldnt even be allowed to compare Romo to brady. Romo worth every penny of the 66 million he is worth? Heck yea, that was an awsome playoff game he won that time. He is a mistake maker and thats what he will always be. Romo has done nothing huge in this league. Dam, people are stupid. So if I go into the nfl and scamble around alot and fumble and lose whe it matters I can get paid 66 million and get compared to the best ever? Where do I sign up?

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

dumbest article ever. Isnt Albert Breer a patriots writer/fan too? He should be ashamed of himself, John Tomase II.

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

I agree with the article (don't all line up to shoot me) they do have more but at the end of the day it's how you use what you have got TB is the difference maker as is RM. Tony Romo can make plays happen really well but doesn't make all the right reads which leads to more picks and more deflections. Moss is pure speed and can beat anyone one on one where as Owens gets his body in the right place to make the catches. both great receivers. Crayton drops quite a few and doesn't have as much in open play that Stallworth had or the speed. Wes Welker is possibly the best slot of all time the guy is clutch run his route so well Brady didn't have to look for him where as Austin is just starting to show what he has. We have no idea how well Williams will fit in this system yet. So we have receivers and QB.

Our OLine has shown it is not that great this year and there is not that much difference to it and the cowboys do have a good solid line. Which the can run strongly behind we showed we could run at the end of the season when everyone expected pass.

Hard to argue against the Backs or TE.

Personnel wise I think they do edge us but our work ethic and ability to stretch the field on almost every play is what set us apart. Our number one receiver didn't cry when he didn't get all the grabs.

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

Weren't the Cowboys supposed to be the '08 version of the '07 Pats entering the season only to have the pundits rip it down because of how they have looked? Looks like those pundits are back on the bandwagon now...

Romo could be back as early as next week, apparently he was thinking about going back in this week but was told to sit - The injury looks to be not as worrysome for him to come back quick - It WILL NOT be 4 weeks before he starts again

Re: Cowboys now have more firepower than 07' Pats (article)

In terms of weaponry, he's right. They seem to have much better options surrounding the QB. Key phrase is surrounding the QB. Brady puts the '07 Pats offense on another level from the Cowboys, he's just that good.

wow. he has written some good stuff in the past complimentary of the pats. just because he voices his opinion and says they are as talented he is tomase ?

and having the talent isnt the same as having the same results.

if u actually read it, i think most of their rankins/comparisons are right on...

they did NOT compare brady to romo...

the only ones i dont agree with is the boys haveing an enourmous advantage over the pats in TE,

and that the boys have a better O-line this yr than we did last yr....i would say its not even close

the performace of our o line last year (up to the superbowl) will never be mirrored

Yep. Yet another kneejerk reaction on this forum. If you want the most hilarious example of it, check out the Game 5 thread in the Red Sox forum.

well..quite frankly our TE watson has been a hidden bust -just my opinion-. he just hasnt performed to his potential and is always hurt.
our o line was good but the boys o line has been very good and was good to last yr. its hard to compare a 16-0 team with anyone else. Everyone will look better.

yeah well...'if cassel starts against the broncos iam done ' and 'BB is the reason we have not won the SB since 2004' threads are proof enough

They've already lost twice as many games as we did last year.

Also they do not have a QB/WR who will both set historic single season all-time records.

Joke article.
