Knee injury for Light
Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

Patriots left tackle Matt Light did not participate in today's practice due to a knee injury, according to the team's participation report. Light went wire to wire in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.

A look at the complete report:

Did Not Participate in Practice
LB Eric Alexander (hamstring)
DE Jarvis Green (right ankle)
RB LaMont Jordan (right calf)
LT Matt Light (knee)
RT Nick Kaczur (right ankle)
RB Laurence Maroney (shoulder)
WR Kelley Washington (right ankle)

So um, who plays tackle for us if Light and Kaczur can't play?

I can't think of anything to say other than:

:(

Britt has backed up at LT for two years. LeVoir started at RT last week. Ross may also be ready.

LeVoir actually looked better than Kaczur last week, IMO. I actually can't wait to see how he will perform in an entire game.

Denver's the team coming to town. Time to kidnap Clady and put him in a Patriots uniform.

Is there a deep class of OL (specifically OG) coming out in the next draft?

The offensive line is way too thin, we have no depth, and our TE's are below average blockers.

Both Matt and Kazur have struggled and obviously it's maybe due to injuries, but the point is, they've been struggling and if they sit a bit they might be better off down the road. For better or for worse I'm curious to see Britt and especially LeVoir.

I'm gonna buy a ticket to the game. Maybe they will raffle off the starting LT and RT positions.

You're worried about the guards? How about a true left tackle so we can move Light to where he belongs...on the right. Mankins is a beast and will be for a few more years and then you can let the rest of the guys duke it out for rg. Center is ok at this point and with an upgrade at rg, should be fine.

While I have never been a fan of Mr. Can't-Count-to-Two, this isnt good. It doesnt seem like MC has had all that much time this season and with both tackles out...itll be a miracle if he survives the game. Granted, Denver's d isnt all that special, but we need all the help we can get at this point.

Is it me or does it seem the injury bug has been on a rampage in NE this year...not to mention the sox:eek:

I wonder if Ty Law is big enough by now?

It seems like the injury bug is on a war path in the NFL in general. I heard today the Addai is now out for up to 4 weeks with a hamstring injury.

Agreed but center isn't exactly set either. Or did you not see Koppen constantly getting blown off the ball Sunday night?

Yup, and this injury thing started in preseason, bad injuries to starters and it's been escalating ever since. Ironically it seems we have more rules in place than ever before:rolleyes:

To be honest I spent most of sunday getting drunk and in turn spent much of the game chasing the fairer sex around the party i was at. For the most part I think Koppen holds his own, I'd put him at center above Matt Light at LT any day. In Koppens defense, he was giving up 50 pounds to the guy blowing him off the ball. Williams weighs in at 350, Wilfork is at 325 (wasnt he heavier before this season?).

Now that I think about it, am I wrong in thinking i heard someone saying Seymour had slimmed down a tad too? Maybe this is part of the reason why they don't seem to get the push they did in years past. Just a year or two ago I remember Wilfork driving centers into qbs and backs fairly often. They just dont seem to have the same tenacity as in years past. Excuse me for digressing.:D
