Nobody better be writing off the season. We clearly are not the best team, but who cares. We will be competetive. We need the fans to help as beat Denver, as well as every team we host at Gillette. Our schedule is not the most difficult, and it may only take 9 wins plus the tiebreaker to win the East. Once in the playoffs, anything can happen, even cruddy quarterbacks can beat the best team ever

We have the Super Bowl Losers Curse.......

... I dont think, however that he sees something great in cassel, but is simply going with the best option, as bad as it is, to try and get through the season.

And as far as O'connel goes, with 9 left in the forth, and being down by 5000 million points, I just wanted to see him in action thats all.

I differ with you on a portion of your first point copied above. If O'connel was able to convince BB that he can be better than MC, wouldn't BB immediately give him some chance?
The fact that BB was actively coaching until the last minute in the one-sided Bolts game leads me to believe that BB has a long term in mind and allowing MC to be exposed/trained/educated/whatever-you-want-to-call it. Hopefully this proves helpful to MC in the next few games.

On your last line: I see where you are coming from and am tempted to agree. But, I am resisting the impulse and want to wait for a few more games to see if BB's faith in MC is vindicated. :)

THe season is only over until sixteen games have been played and its only week 7.

We have the Super Bowl Losers Curse.......

Yup, and here it's coupled with the multiple superbowl winners curse of a bandwagon enhanced and thoroughly spoiled by success frontrunner fanbase.

So the Super Bowl Losers Curse is that the loser of the Super Bowl loses the greatest quarterback of all time due to injury in game 1 of the following regular season?

there is no hope for the future when Cassel plays. It has been a roller coaster for me and i'm tired of riding it.

Maybe because they grasp that in 2001 there were as few who remotely realized what Brady was at that time as there are today who believe Cassel might yet have enough of it to make a season of it yet. Hindsight is not only 20/20, it's often full of revisionist BS... I know from reading here that while I felt at the time I was one of the few who saw the potential in Brady in week 10 of 2001 when Bill named him the starter for the rest of the season, some here today would lead me to believe I was just one of the gazillions back then who recognized IT from day 1... And the legion of Bledsoe supporters who wanted him back even on the eve of a Superbowl not to mention thereafter were apparently just a figment of collective imaginations at the time...

More to the point, Cassell doesn't have to be anywhere near Brady to keep the team competitive and in the mix.

Look at how many teams have won the SB with mediocre QBs?

If Cassell can get the protection of his OL, he simply needs to avoid making critical mistakes, while the D simply needs to hold opposing teams to reasonable scores.

Thus far I'd say Cassell has held up his end of the bargain. I can't say the same for the OL and D, but that could change, and if they peak at the right time and make the playoffs, anything can happen.

How many people predicted the NY Giants would win the NFC title, let alone the Super Bowl, this time last year - or even at the start of the playoffs?

I understand why people are down on the team - their play hasn't indicated they are Championship caliber. But there's still time and still hope.

Okee dokee. See ya next year.

I won't miss Cassel when he is FIRED. That is my final answer.

But he won't be fired, he wasn't cut when many thought he might be,he has the backing of BB, come what may he will be the starting QB for at least the next 4 or 5 games. As I said the other day BB has his head very far up his arse where Cassel is concerned.
We'll shall see whether things get better, or more regular anyway.

So long!

Man the fanbase and Patsfans is gonna be quiet soon.

Unless of course its remotely possible the people who believe that really have their collective heads up their asses which might explain their belief that they know more about the situation and viability of alternatives than Bill does...

Andy Johnson was noting all the fans here who are "writing off the season" while we're at 3-2

If he's right, that's shocking to me as well, but I'm not quite sure that's what's happening. There's concern certainly - and true fans want to see this team improve its level of play - and know they NEED to improve their play if they expect this team to make the playoffs or go deep in the playoffs...

But at 3-2, are fans really writing off the season?

ANYONE who is, does not belong on this earth.

Maybe its just me, but I kind of like when people disagree with me, it makes for some good arguing, and who knows maybe if you (not actually you, but "you" as any individual) can set aside the fac that you're the "greatest, smartest football fan ever" you might acually learn a thing or two.
Absolutely true, and people with whom I've disagreedwith strongly in the past have shown me things. That's not the purpose of the ignore list, no, not to ignore people who disagree with you.

The purpose of the ignore list is to tune out those people who have nothing useful to offer. It is like ignoring certain people in real life. When you are talking sports with other adults at a cookout, and a two year old comes up and starts being ognoxious, you tell him to go away, but he just becomes more obnoxious, you go find his mother. But when posters with the maturity and goals of two-year-olds use their keyboard, all you can do is ignore them.
Patslifer
This message is hidden because Patslifer is on your ignore list.

Just like you would in real life.

Other times you are discussing sports and someone comes over and everyone rolls their eyes. It is the guy who is sports clueless and continually comes up the the numbest statements. Everyone just ignores him. That is another use for the ignore list.

Just like in real life.

But never put someone on ignore simply because he disagrees with you. There were people who disagreed when I said we shouldn't have drafted Seymour, who had a bad work ethic at Georgia and anyway we need a WR and David Terrell was available and we should have drafted him. I didn't put those misguided soles on ignore just because they liked Seymour over Terrell :D
