Wow-what a WEEK if you're a Cowboys fan...anybody? anyone here?

More to come with the details-will be interesting to see how he and TO get along.

Re: OT: ESPN Radio BREAKING...WR Roy Williams a Cowboy

If he and T.O. cannot get along, ship T.O. out of town. This was a MEGA MEGA move for the Cowboys however, I can see T.O. pouting far more often now and being a cancer. He must be the center of attention in town. I wonder if this is a move by Jerry to send a message to T.O.

To be fair-he's faced WAY too many double/triple teams. Our other WRs can't get separation, much less get off jams off the LOS(yes, that includes big mouth Crayton).

Having Roy in there will only decrease that, and give him more opportunities.

Of course, I'm an Extreme Idiotic Homer.:singing:

For a #2 in 2009 and #2 in 2010 so says ESPN. Not sure this will work out too well although it has interesting upside. It'll be past midway through the season before Williams, Owens and Romo play together in a real game.

Re: OT: ESPN Radio BREAKING...WR Roy Williams a Cowboy

Edit: ^^^ huh, that's an awful good deal if it's true...

Word is that it's for AT LEAST a first rounder, so they're paying a hefty price.

Who will be the QB now that Romo is out? This move still doesnt make sense to me.They already have an offense.Their problem is their pathetic defense.

Re: OT: ESPN Radio BREAKING...WR Roy Williams a Cowboy

Adam Schefter has confirmed the Cowboys gave up their 2009 1st, 3rd and 6th round draft picks.

Great move for the rebuilding Lions.

Thanks! Couldn't find the details anywhere else.

Jerry Jones is going for it. With Brady shelved and the Pats looking to be a shell of their former selves this will be his best shot at a title.

Probably shouldn't have thanked me :

Shefter has more credibility than Weder who said what I wrote. That's what I get for repeating something your the you know what channel.

Re: OT: ESPN Radio BREAKING...WR Roy Williams a Cowboy

I wanted Brad Johnson as the backup early this offseason but Dallas grabbed him

Brad has plenty of talent and was a SB QB and now he has some good players to throw to

He will do well as Romo's backup more than I can say for sucky Cassel

I don't know if I like this for the Cowboys. Yes, Williams is definitely a talent, but TO doesn't neccessarily like to play well with others and Romo being out could knock the Cowboys out of the playoffs this year. That is a lot to give up for the future especially if the Cowboys are 4-6 when Romo comes back.

BJ is also 40. He may be "decent", but he's FAR from Romo. What's going to be sorely missed is Romo moving around, eluding defenders, and making plays. Sure, Romo's a turnover machine, but his good FAR outweighs his bad. Brad being a sitting duck(and he doesn't have much arm strength to boot) could all but even the playing field for us.

The Pats didn't miss a beat by passing over him.

Anyhow-back to the topic-the Lions have to be THE dumbest organization in all of sports. They wanted DEMARCUS WARE as part of the deal...

Lions asked DeMarcus Ware for Roy

Ed Werder of ESPN reports that the Cowboys have talked to the Lions about trading for WR Roy Williams.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network noted earlier that the Lions asked for DeMarcus Ware in exchange for Williams, which the Cowboys hopefully laughed at. The trade deadline is 4:00 p.m. ET and the Lions are said to be holding out for more than a first-round pick.

you mean 2009 right?

I love Roy Williams despite the ****iness. He's a great talent.

Yep-we have to travel to the Meadowlands and FedEx for 2 of those games-I anticipate losses, to be frank. If some of our injured guys don't play, they won't even be close.

That Tampa game isn't exactly cupcake either-the Bucs have a very good team this year.

Trading for 2008 picks would be a Matt Millen move. :p

Sounds like the reverse Herschel Walker Trade for the Cowboys.

1st, 3rd and 6th?!?!?!?! Oh, my.

Not really-the Lions gave us a 3rd rounder in last year's draft, so it's like we gave it back to them. We also netted 2 6th rounders b/c of the Jason Ferguson trade to Miami and b/c Pacman got suspended, we don't have to give the Titans our 6th rounder(we also TN's get 5th rounder next year b/c of this as well). And the Lions had to give us their 7th rounder as part of the deal.

Sounds confusing, eh?
