Andy Johnson was noting all the fans here who are "writing off the season" while we're at 3-2

If he's right, that's shocking to me as well, but I'm not quite sure that's what's happening. There's concern certainly - and true fans want to see this team improve its level of play - and know they NEED to improve their play if they expect this team to make the playoffs or go deep in the playoffs...

But at 3-2, are fans really writing off the season?

though there are alarming signs, no one should ever right off a season... Lower expectations yes, give up on a season heck no

There is still a chance for the playoffs, of course, but this is a mediocre team at this point.

The "Triumvirate of Space Alien Refugees From Planet Moron" are assuredly writing them off....in fact , these three bozos had them written off back in August. That's Snarkives in the middle, and BtoB bringing up the rear.

Of course not - although I have no confidence right now we can beat a quality team with our current QB situation.

Let's see Matt Cassell is our QB.

Our secondary is very weak.

Our offensive line is weakened by injuries.

Our defensive front has trouble pressuring the QB.

If we make the playoffs with those problem areas then Belichick is one step closer to being a god.

Heck no lets see writing off a season if we i was a benguls fan yes ,lions fans yes and countless other teams.
But i have seen my team win 3 out of 5 times they played how can the season be over......

now come the idiots who say we lost 2 games when the defence gave up over 400 yds so we cannot win with matt casell.

I would put defense as the bigger concern to date. With the offensive line performing as it has for much of the season, if the defense spots decent teams 2 TDs or more, opposing defenses will be pinning their ears back and throwing everything at Cassel. I am not entirely convinced Brady could make that work (Fewer sacks, yes, given his ability to sense pressure and throw the ball away but successful?).

Again, I am far from writing off the season. This is a weird season where the "any given Sunday" rule appears to be in full effect. The Browns just thrashed the Giants, who appeared to stand as the lone exception thus far in the eyes of so-called experts. This may be one of those years when a 10-6 record and momentum at the end of the year makes you a contender. So far, this season feels very 2005ish, so I will be eagerly watching to see if the Pats can fix whatever issues exist in the front 7 causing them to produce little to no pressure Sunday.

One can write off the season at this point just as easily as one can predict winning lottery numbers. No.

Not at all.Too early, the big prize will be there for the team that can finish strong. We have been spoiled by our success over the last several years,so this team is not the juggernaut it was, lets see what happens in Nov-Dec.

No, we need to get some pass rush and hit some open receivers and we could be really good. Inconsistentcy at QB and in the OL has hurt. Rookies are getting playing time and should be starting to catch on, Hopefully Neal will return, Yates is one of those inconsistent guys along with surprisingly, Koppen. LeVoir didn't do bad, maybe he can keep Kazcur off the field.

I am not writing off the season. But I have "written off" many of the posters at this forum.

Can I use this poll to stock my ignore list?

If you were a fan of over 1/2 the other teams this would be a very good year. As it is this is an exciting year (and unpredictable).

Can I use this poll to stock my ignore list?

Won't work because the naysayers have learned to aviod going on public record in polls because they get embarrased later (e.g. Poll: Who will be the Pats QBs this fall?) when they're WRONG as usual.

What? "Over"?

Did you say "over"?

Nothing's over until we decide it is!

Was it over when the Germans
bombed Pearl Harbor?

Hell, no!

And it ain't over now.

'Cause when the going gets tough...

I wrote off the Super Bowl quest 5 minutes into the first quarter of game 1 but the playoffs #6 seed is literally a grab bag and any team with the winning or even losing record right now can get it - Heck even the Bengals is they got hot and won 95% of their remaining games still has a shot at #6

I see no better than a #6 for this team but its possible

I never 'write off' a Pats season even if I don't think they'll make the playoffs. Who really KNOWS? The games are interesting.

I'll be the first to say that MAT CASSEL SUCKS, but you shouldnt "write off" any team at 3-2, its not probable that they will win many games if he keeps playing, but it is possible.
