Obviously Crable has to win the time, but we are seriously lacking a pass rush right now. From what I saw in preseason of Crable, he looked damn good pass rushing. I'm expecting a lot more blitzing next week. I wanna see some Crable!

I'd like to see him inserted on those types of situational downs. Vrabel really looks as if he either lost a major step in the offseason or he's injured. Either way, he shouldn't be in the game most of time. Now, keep in mind that in the preseason, Crable was going up against scrubs. I have. But with that in mind, I wouldn't care if BB inserted Crable more often to rush the passer. God knows we need it this season. There is absolutely NO pass rush.

Not sure what they have to lose playing him. What will he pick up "bad habits" or something?

Sometimes the best "learning" is done by actually getting out there.

Vrabel is just asleep most of the time. It's like 11 on 10. He's 34, I think, or maybe jsut 33, but plays like 43.

what happened to crable? I haven't seen him playing lately.

I'm confused as to why their not playing their 3rd round pick as well. This is a perfect time to get Crable some minutes because the defense clearly needs an overhaul. However, I have said this defense needed an overhaul 3 years ago.

I think the problem here is, who do you sit if you activate Crable? He's not great on ST, so we'd take a hit there, or maybe you sit Guyton? It becomes a tough call.

I'd love to see Crable myself, but I don't know who you sit.

As I've stated before, weeks back, Mike Vrabel is on the back 9. Let's get the young Crable some quality snaps BB instead of keeping him in street clothes every freakin week where we haven't generated a pass rush since week 14 of last season.

Vrabel would be the first most obvious answer there. Keep in mind if we put in Crable it is by no means an every down change.

Who do you sit? Did you get a load of Matt Slater last night ?

Play him when he's ready. Why is it so hard?

or play him when it cant get any worse...(and weve hit that with the pass rushing issue)...why is that so hard?

look, he didnt do anything amazing...

but i dont think he sucked either...u dont always have something on the sides, u go straight for the longest gain...

Bring in Crabes, Vrabel has been weak...............

I am confused so a 270 AD and 265 lbs vrabel are having trouble due to the OL blocking so lets put a 245 lb LB in their to pass rush.

now they can run right at him

Don't assume it can't get any worse - you don't know that. If the kid doesn't know the playbook, or isn't actually better than the players who are playing, it can get worse.

You get the kid ready in practice not when it counts. The staff knows who's ready and who's not ready.

This must seem like rocket science to you fantasy football fans but as yet my man 'The Crab' has not shown that he can put on a pass rush as well as HOF LB Pierre Woods. He is also not a strong enough contributor on special teams. You want BB to sit ST contributor Woods just so you can get your jollies seeing Crable play, as we give up a big return? I loved The Crab at summer camp but it was clear to me as a big fan of his that he needed to bulk up, learn the position and demonstrate that he could set the edge if a runing play ensued. He has talent and will get on the field but right now he's deep on the depth chart. Think about that and how the on field players performed Sunday night.

These idiots would probably rather have Crable active instead of Vrabel.

agreed 100%, with that being said we need to improve our pass rush this offseason very badly. I was a huge believer in the "draft lamar woodley" camp a couple years ago, looking like that wouldn't have been a bad addition. We're really going to have to consider drafting pass rushers, because other than Crable we haven't been lately.

Reiss thinks so:
Rob, I think it's a good, educated prediction that Crable will see his first action Monday against Denver. They need more of a pass rush, and perhaps he can deliver that spark in a sub package. Consider this from Sunday night's game: In-game statisticians keep track of quarterback hits, which is when a quarterback is knocked to the ground, and the Patriots had zero in 27 Philip Rivers pass attempts. Some stats can be twisted to prove a point. That's not one of them. Credit to the Chargers for their pass protection, but I find it hard to believe that with the talent the Patriots have on their defense that they couldn't get to Rivers at least a few times.
