Josh McDaniels jawing at Belichick?

Scott Zolak brought this up on TV in the post game show, asking what was up with McDaniels getting in Belichick's face at half time

McDaniels is horrible.

We havent won a SuperBowl since Weiss and Crennel left.

I think Weiss was the bigger loss because BB takes care of the defense.

McDaniels is a one dimensional play caller. His failure to adjust the offense in last years SuperBowl can't be forgotten either.

That's just silly. If Samuel makes a catch we go 19-0 without Weis and Crennel. One of half a dozen PLAYER mistakes and we beat Indy in 2007 and go on to win it all. McDaniels may not be good but your SB conclusion is ridiculous.

Amen BF! It think we probably agree more on this board!;)

So what's the time limit on this guy getting Banned? I'm sick of him.

"McDaniels is horrible." Yea, that's intelligent.

So people still aren't allowed to criticize the team on this board?

McDaniels was overrated last year, and the chickens are coming home to roost.

Belichick knew it was futile, and let the first half die a natural death.

Did anyone else catch this, after the first half, McDaniels yelling at Belichick and jawing in his ear as they both walked off the field? McDaniels' face was completely red, he was yelling so hard.

First of all Josh, you don't talk to your boss like that, let alone one of the greatest football minds in history. Second of all, you have been lucky to have Tom Brady make you look good ever since you became OC in 2006, why don't you spend a little more time on improving this offense.

I'm watching this game and McDaniels has basically called the same 5 plays, over and over and over. Does this guy not self-scout himself? SO predictable, at this point I can predict over half of the plays where the ball is going.

Crazy. You do realize that Josh was yelling to be heard over the San Diego fans that were yelling obscenities at the team as they were going into the tunnel, right?

Funny how people have such different interpretations of this scene,I personally didnt see any hostility in this by McDaniels, looks like he was trying to make a point. My 2 cents...

it is the only reason i did not turn the game off

I kept hoping for a malfunction.:D

As far a McDaniels is concerned. I didn't see him giving up 30 points. I think the only time Rivers got his uniform dirty was when he knelt for the pre-game prayer.

I guess that it's his fault that Williams knocked Koppen back four yards.

Play calling looks great when it's executed. When it's not executed it looks really bad.

We have no idea what he was saying to BB. But let's not let that interfere with dumping on an easy target.

So the Media (National Broadcast) was making more of this than was actually there? Aw, come on. That never happens. ;)

But play calling and execution are somewhat correlated.
Why did McDaniels not realize Koppen cannot handle Jamal Williams one on one?

You play call away from your unfavorable mismatches, not right at them.

If you asked Shaq to shoot 3's and your team lost, you would blame the play calling and coach, not Shaq for failing to execute.

You don't know what Josh was saying or how he was saying it. It didn't look to be hostile from the video.

... or could have been mad about a call of the official... or could have been mad about something a player on the other team did, or could have been angry at one of his own players and was telling BB about it

Certainly not enough information - and certainly, without the D playing better, we're still talking about a "good loss" where the O played well.

Could you kindly give us a play-by-play breakdown of which protection schemes McDaniels called?

Josh needs to save his political election rhetoric discussions for the flight home

I don't hate McDaniels like some here do, but I was at that game and all I will say about his playcalling is that I have extreme doubts that the optimum use of our offensive personnel is to run a high number of plays with both Sammy Morris and Heath Evans simultaneously split out wide.

Who knows what he was actually saying.... IMO, its perfectly fine to get fired up and let out some emotion, even if it includes some yelling and confrontation when the situation calls for it. We don't know what was really being said by McDaniels, but I personally like that he's got fire and isn't shy about speaking up to his boss. I think that the TV crew made way too big a deal out of it.
