The Pats didn't play the hurry-up very well and went with running plays and some BRUTAL "chucks" at the end.

I support Cassel, and this is the first game I thought he was downright brutal. That said, peculiar Kevin didn't see any snaps when the game was toast.

One of two things:

1) Just getting the game over with and trying to make the score a little more respectable.

2) Cassel's last test under pressure - failed.

I watched pretty closely and I think it was a team melt-down. Never-the-less, everything after the botched "go for it" was a nightmare. Cassel scrambling like woke up naked at the mall. Running Faulk into traffic like a bike messenger in the Holland Tunnel when air mail would be cheaper.

*sigh*

I really wonder why Kevin wasn't in for mop up. That's all.

I'll now quietly take my place in the sea of post-loss posts.

Go Pats. :nooo:

BB wanted the starters to feel and live this loss....

good

BB wanted to see if Cassel could score against a garbage time defense.

He couldn't.

iam gladd o'connell wasnt in mop up. even moss was out there till the last snap. BB didnt want his starters to sit around after stinking the joint. he wanted them to clean their own poop.

The only reason O'connell got playing time the last time was because cassel was getting drilled and looked like he was mentally out of the game, and he has been that way ever since.

Sorry but he didn't get playing time because he isn't going to. Cassel still needs every snap he can get. If they had any intention of playing O'Connell in the forseeable future he'd have been in there in the 4th.

Cassel looked bad on 4th and 1. Aside from that he actually didn't. Except of course that we lost and the QB is always at fault when that happens even when his name is Brady. Who oddly had his same vocal critics even in victory and even in the midst of an undefeated season.

The kneejerk approach to almost any real, perceived or imagined imperfections hereabouts is to single out scapegoats and :scream: :beatingcoming: :deadhorse:

Well, that's some flawed logic. They didn't make Matt stay in and sweep up at the end of the Miami game.

I think maybe it's true that Bill left them out there to wallow in their own poor performance.

And hopefully people aren't skim-reading my post. I'm not suggesting Cassel isn't still the guy. I was just thinking it was out of form to let the rookie get some snaps when the game is out of hand. Of course, I guess we've essentially got two rookie QB's to get snaps to.
