I think many people who watched the game missed Al Michael's vague comments when talking about the timeout BB took with seconds to go and Al goes "only a few people are interested in this play"

Apparently Al was talking about gambling on the game when in referrence to his comment.

The over/under for the game was set at 45 - If NE made it it would have changed the money around quickly.

Did BB bet on the over? (just kidding,he is not Pete Rose)

His announcing at the team USAs olympic hockey team miracle on ice over 2 decades ago was the best announcing of a game I have ever heard - Unfortunately he has not been that good throughout his career

But the way he referred to gambling on tonights game which is taboo talk on the networks, was a bit amusing...but not to those who bet the over and are probably writing death threats to Cassel who missed a wide open Watson.

Re: Al Michael's comment with seconds to go in the game......

It's not that uncommon for announcers to hint at the point spread or over/under, especially in one-sided games.

You'd never hear it in a close game, because the announcers have a meaningful game to call. If a team is threatening to score near the end of a blowout, they may allude to the gambling aspect.

I thought it was interesting that Madden and Michaels seemed like they were inconvenienced that the Patriots didn't just let the clock run out inside of 2 minutes. On the drive before that, with about 5 minutes to go, Madden was going on about how Cassel needs to run the no huddle and the coaches need to let him do it to get experience. When they let him do that on the final drive, the announcers seemed a little put off that they had to work longer.

I think they're the two best in football.

The two best what?

Al Michaels and Brent Musburger make a reference to the line in almost every game they call and that's pretty well known and expected.
