I disagree that he's improving. He showed big improvement last week against San Fran, but he's taken AS big of a step back today. It's not a coincidence that San Fran is a lousy team and San Diego isn't. I'm not saying he should be replaced, but he just isn't getting it done.

Cassel wasn't that good, but he was moving the ball pretty well at times when we were in the game. Playcalling, poor OL play, and the defensive implosion due to those 2 is just as much to blame tonight.

Bottom line is this: Cassel played the worst ranked pass D in the league (after tonight they won't be ranked there) and put up 3 points. He had plenty of chances with wide open guys, but continually took short routes or pulled it down and tried to run. He can't read defenses quick enough and has terrible pocket presence.

Sorry but it's the same old story...put just a little preasure on Cassel...and the kid looks like a skitish little girl back there..wow I realize that we have been so spoiled watching Brady just cooly stand in the pocket in the face of preasures and hit his receivers...

I actually agree with the sentiments of this post.

I mean, c'mon, let's flash back to week 1 when we found out that Brady was going to be done for the year. After the initial shock/self pity, I think collectively as a fan base we were kind of looking forward to this new challenge (of trying to win with Cassel).

We all figured that Cassel would be serviceable. We also weren't getting too carried away. In our heart of hearts, we still realized that with cassel at QB the team was sure to have a few 'stinkers' during the season. Well, this game against SD was one of them. We were expecting this to happen at some point. No need to steer of course or change the gameplan. New qbs will have to learn the ropes the hard way sometimes.

You are embarrasing yourself with Cassel - Please stop,This high school quarterback needs to go back and play for where he graduated from - He might be able to pass for 300 yards and score more than 14 points against 16 year old secondary players
