I agree, the nfl is a crap shoot, but cassel has to get a LOT better for this team to be a legit playoff team. Not a little better, a LOT better.. JMHO

i dont think strong reactions are unexpected but to concur with the original poster, and even you...we have gotten blown out - given up 34 and 30 pts in 2 games so far so it isnt all cassel. he is part of the problem which isnt surprising but not the whole problem by anymeans. everyone expects o'connell to be flacco but our D is not the ravens D.

Bro, the Pats aren't going to do squat with Cassel and their defense sucks my balls. Yes, the NFL sucks this year but the Pats wouldn't make it past the Chargers or Colts if they made the playoffs. There is always next year. It's not the end of the world.

The Colts D isn't the Ravens D, and look what happened to Flacco today.

I think people expect to see gloomy threads after blowout losses, helps them vent. Sure they might be knee jerk at times, but hey - you can always bump those later.

Everyone is angry after tonight's game. We just all have different levels of anger and different perspectives as how to move foward.

I don't get how he didn't look good... I mean he completed almost 60% of his passes and each attempt completed averaged almost 10yards.

Did he look great? Nope. No TD's to 1 INT is never a good ratio. But come on, he wasn't horrible. That INT wasn't even directly his fault IMHO, it was caused by welker and the TE running into each other on the line; granted even a timing play like that needs to have quick check downs.

He's "young" and hasn't had much playing experience in years. I'm not drooling over him, but about the only thing O'Connel gives us is the surprise factor. Teams have little tape on him.

We technically won the TOP battle tonight too. So I think a bigger problem is our D giving up over 400 yards to SD rather than Cassel "sucking".

frankly there are more stupid threads than rational ones - one poster is actually creating one for every flaw we had.so i can see where the OP is coming from.

3 weeks of 30 points on average given up from this defense is cause for concern..period

Unless you don't bleed red I don't know how someone can doubt this team is anything but mediocre at this point - BAD QUARTERBACK + BAD SECONDARY can't be fixed in a few days

It was not ONE game,it was not TWO games - its now 3 games in a row of putrid defensive play - O'Sullivan could have done more against this D if he did not outright suck like Cassel

I mean he made some errant passes and was staring down the rush the whole game, but our D did nothing to help him, we didn't run the ball enough and our line did jack **** to protect him.

From where i sit and watch it looks more like the Defense, and O-line (its Offesive) not Cassel as to where the greater proportion of the blame lies. Although Cassel doesn't help.
