The guy can't keep contain vs the run, can't apply any kind of pressure on the edge, and has been terrible vs the pass. Anyone want to try and convince me otherwise? Our outside backers have been terrible ever since Willie left.

I thought he should've been kept inside.

Good call he is a huge bust,Bill B made a mistake on him.

When Rossie was on, he set the edge and blew it up.

And No, i don't think AD is a bust

Rosie was AWFUL vs the run, got sucked in on every outside rush.

I don't think he's been that bad. Vrabel has had similar problems this season, and Bruschi is just a body out there at this point. Thomas at least has flashed occasionally. Mayo has really been the best linebacker out there consistently, and he's just a rookie learning on the job. He gets out of position sometimes, but he hits like a ton of bricks, has great range and is clearly instinctive for the position. I just think the defense overall is playing poorly, it's way too harsh to single out one guy, even if he did have a down game.

A bust? I'm pissed off, but I've not got to the delusional stage yet.

I wish there wasnt a restriction on the amount of letters you could put cus if there wasnt all i would say is LOL thats all this thread deserves. How can you pick out one guy on a defense and call him a bust. AD does his job and very well there are 10 other guys with him you know

I definitely do not think he's the only problem. As you said Bruschi is just a body, Vrabel can only bring pressure when we scheme, Mayo is a rookie and will make mistakes. Wilfork seems to either have an amazing game or a terrible game. Our corners give have no closing speed, James Sanders is very meciocre. The only guys on defense that I thought have looked consistently okay are Rodney, Meriweather, and Mayo.

Dude is off to a terrible start. Every week he looks slow, he gets passed on and he's nowhere to be seen on the edge.

So far he looks like a bust on the outside.

Merriweather should be starting ahead of Sanders, and I'm a big Sanders fan. The defense needs his range out there badly. With the defensive line struggling to control blockers and collapse the pocket, the team needs more range out there to compensate.

Agree 100%, that play where he got hurt was exactly what you want out of your safeties, there's no way Sanders makes that play on the ball. Rivers had alllll the time in the world today.

For a first or second rounder???? Oh boy, let's do it..

what did we get for bledsoe? lets offer same deal. i dont remember, did we get anything for milloy?
