So excited for this game to start up. This is going to be a good challenge for the Sox. I think they actually lose game one but will split in TBay. Only problem i see with this series is the god awful stadium that the Rays call home. Will be a challenge lets get it started!

I really would like to see them knock Tampa Bay out. I'd hate to see a city that doesn't even go to the games get a Championship. Baseball really hasn't been popular there until this season, so that would just irritate me.

I agree with you, that stadium is atrocious. Hopefully we don't see anything crazy like the ball hitting a speaker that decides the series. Unless of course it helps the Sox :D

I for once dont wanna see an inning in which Matsuzaka throws 30 to 40 pitches.

i agree Ian. The Fans are the definition of bandwagon. It will be interesting to see how Tbay plays in the cold weather at fenway. Lots of conditions to this series. I really hope DiceK can just go out there and dominate hopefully he lasts at least 7 innings

One more hour!!!

DiceK, DiceK, DiceK. Gotta be one of the most nerve racking things to watch. Should be one nothing Sox if not for that dumb bounce. Stupid Tropicana

Shields is rolling over our lineup. Not good.

Pedroia still looks miserable at the plate.Come on guys, get more runs!!

It should be 3-0 if not for the first inning aswell as variteks sharp grounder to Iwamura

Dice K has settled down nicely hes rolling (the dice) (sorry had to do it haha)
hope he keeps it up its much healthier for my heart when he pitches like this haha

your right hes really struggling but he did the same last playoffs so i think he will catch fire hes way to good to be swinging like this

Daisuke through 7: 2 hits. 4BB, 0 runs. Now it's up to the pen.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUK!

Don't mess with Pedy! He looked ready to deck the pitcher when JD got plunked.

wtf are you talking about? how does he look miserable at the plate? he doesnt have many hits but hes been hitting the ball hard the entire playoffs.

damn guys, very nice showing tonight

i was looking forward to seeing manny get embarrassed by his former team in the ws but after today it's looking alot less likely, and more like redsox/phillies

Way to early to be talking bout WS. Ill reserved judgement till everythings done. Remember Tbay is one of the best come from behind teams in the league

true, i just can't see tb getting by boston's experience in this playoffs , i think that's what helps the phillies too

you know the old saying, it's not even interesting until a home team loses, and if tb can't come back here in the 9th, i think this one's over, just because of the red sox clutchness

i'm really quite jealous of them, being a padres fan

tb is a feel good story but red sox seem to be on cruise mode till playoffs then just bam, lockdown

I do think that experience is gonna play a huge part throughout the series and could be a deciding factor but i like how this Rays team plays ball. They have had their opportunities with any luck (for them) this game could be tied if not leading. If the sox can hold on to this lead it will be huge to win Home Field Advantage, Which i think will be huge for the Sox because im really interested to see how the Rays play in the cold Boston air. The weather could be a huge advantage for the Sox aswell. So many intriuging factors to this series.

One out looking better but untill i see Paps Clutch his fist ill be on edge

(padres fan hey... i feel for ya haha)

Come on Paps. 2 down 1 to go. :D

I like this matchup. Tomorrow is going to be so intense. I really hope Beckett got enough rest and is up to par to his regular playing standards if we could go up 2-0 i see no way they lose the series going back to Boston

BOOSH!

Theres game one. Huge.
I didnt think they were going to get this one so its an even sweeter win for me hopefully Kazmir stays shaky tomoro

Like Eck was saying, game one was very important to the Sox. I had to laugh this morning at the moron who is Chicago's baseball writer, Phil Rogers. First the guy gives the Rays the match-up on starting pitching (please tell me who is better then Lester, even before we get to Becket). Then he gives the bullpen to TB. Ok, they do have a good pen, but do not have a closer. He also gives the intangibles to TB because of their stadium. I guess Fenway doesn't come into play at all.
I do believe Becket will be sharp in the next game.
I wasn't really thrilled to see Dice K come in for the 8th, but everything worked out. What a rookie in Masterson!
