He is facing the toughest defense so far this year, I think he will manage alright

My guess his number will be: 22-34 178 yards 2 TD’s 0 INT

Fixed it for you....:)

He was talking about Cassel's numbers not Rivers' :D

LOL... Touche......

For us SD fans it's a case of which Rivers is going to show up, he was doing great before the oakland and miami games

No doubt in my mind it's gonna be a great game. Rivers will play well, and it's gonna be a knock down drag out fight.

the biggest Concern for me is which LM will show up, the one from this year or last year hopefully the latter

I think Cassel will throw at least one interception, if for no other reason than the line's been struggling a lot lately.

Maroney's still nursing the shoulder injury, I don't expect to see him much.

How True... The Chargers are feeling the pressure since the loss to miami, and now we have to play the always tough patriots...

Could be a "air it out" type game

I hope so.

It's amazing that your Pass D is ranked so low with the personnel you guys have out there. Doesn't make me feel any better, to be honest.

Winning is fun, but huge passes and crazy TD's are more fun. As long as we win. hehe

9-21, 91 yards, 0 TDs, 4 INTs.

Replaced by Maroney at the half. Maroney has 21 carries for 212 yards and 4 TDs rushing. I pass completion for 19 yards and a TD.

If Jordan can go, 13/14, 500 BAJILLION yards, 3 BAJILLION TD's
If Jordan can't go, 97/99, 1199999923948379 bajillion yards, 43342 bajillion TD's

Those are good half-time numbers, but I think we're talking about about the entire game.

We have quality players in Jammer, Cromartie, Hart, Weddle, and Cason, the problem has been the defensive schemes, Ted Cottrel plays prevent and zone defense way to much, it has been killing us, the miami game is a classic example. Any team can complete a lot of passes against us right now

Yea... huge passes and crazy TD's are a lot of fun

I just hope we get more of them.

San Diego’s pass defense yards allowed this season:

(Team (passing rank) average PYPG – yards allowed by SD)

Carolina (ranked 15th) average 207 – vs SD 247
Denver (ranked 2nd) average 296 – vs SD 350
NYJ (ranked 10th) average 221 – vs SD 271
Oakland (ranked 29th) average 153 – vs SD 277
Miami (ranked 13th) average 215 – vs SD 228

They allowed Russell to throw for a career high in Yards (277) after throwing for 55 against KC and 156 against Buffalo. I for one think Matt has his best day so far this season on Sunday.

I don’t buy the whole “Chargers can’t get to the QB” crap that I have read over the past few days. They are 7th in the league in sacks with 13 (unfortunately, I don’t know a site that lists pressures or QB hits), they had six in the game against Oakland. In the past 3 weeks they have 11 sacks (NYJ 3,Oak 6, MIA 2). And you can’t make the argument that they are so strong against the run that other teams are forced to pass either, because they rank 18th in rush defense allowing 4.4 ypc (113 ypg).

San Diego allows 25.8 PPG. The defense is simply not very good at this point, they struggle against the run and pass and they let teams put up points.

I think Matt’s numbers will be around – 25/35 300 yards 2 TD 1 INT

Pats win 30 - 17

I remember one of the posters over on Chargers.com posting during the Week 2 game last year, talking about Ted Cottrell's "Cover Who?" defense. :D

true but apparently we are classless and they hate us and they will try to bring more pressure
