What do you think is more concerning or the biggest threat of the two to worry about come sunday night..

Rivers Arm or Tomlinson's legs?

Tomlinson is obviously either still not 100% healthy with the toe injury or he is no longer the home run threat and Rivers will be missing the big target in Chambers but has Jackson,Gates and co.

Ill go with Rivers arm, our front seven usually contains LT even when hes 100% healthy.

Rivers' arm right now. LT is hurt and not playing well right now. If Chambers doesn't play and with Gates hurt, it could be a draw.

I myself have really a tough time deciding which method the Chargers will try more in the early going

Will they try to send Tomlinson up the middle to see what Mayo and an elder Bruschi got or do they go shotgun and sling the ball - I really have no idea whats up Turner's sleeve in the early part of this game

I do know that Mayo may have to play his best game of the season so that Ladanian does not have a flashback game where he tore up the defense on the ground although its been a while since he has done that to any team.

I'm not all that worried about Rivers arm. The two biggest threats to us IMO are LT and Gates in that order. Hopefully the defense is up for the task. Should be a really good game.

Well in order for Gates to get the ball it has to be coming from Rivers arm so Rivers does matter in that regards.

Rivers is the main weapon of that team right now, but he can definitely be rattled mentally and physically if the pressure is put on him. If we can keep Rivers frustrated and protect Cassel we'll win this game.

Don't forget about Sproles. I can see a lot of screens and swing passes.

If both Chambers and Jackson miss this game, I'm going with Sproles. If not, I will go with Rivers. I think LT is so injured that he may hurt his team more than help it playing.

What is exactly wrong with Tomlinson?

Is his toe fractured,a small crack or is it just really really sore or is he just a big pus$y?

until we get a better idea of what this defense is and what it can do, Both.

Supposably the infamous turf toe. But I wouldn't rule out any of your guesses.

Let's take LT's position and say that his injury is a turf toe or some type of small fracture. That would be very frustrating .

they both suck.

If they were 100%, I'd say Tomlinson. Since he has a bum toe, though, and since Chambers, Gates, and Jackson are all hurt, I can't even begin to guess.

Regardless of our past success against him, Tomlinson is far more of a threat. The fact the Pats defense has contained him in prior meetings has a lot to do with why the Pats won most of those games. When healthy Tomlinson is one of, if not the most dangerous players in the NFL; even on his best days Rivers there are a half dozen other quarterbacks better than him.

not this year, at least not after 5 weeks

rivers is the 2nd best qb in the nfl (favre's #1)

either way, all you have to do is beat the Oline, then you'll not need to worry about LT or PR

Rivers is a really good QB imo but just as you pointed out,he can easily get rattled and he also loses focus at times because he can get too involved in crowd reactions, etc. He's home so the crowd shouldn't be hostile, but if they play poorly or we've got some vocal Pats fans, anything can happen:D

The Sparklers are rolling on a lot of emotion-maybe we can make that work FOR us. Rivers can get caught up in emotion fairly easily,to the point some say it detracts from his game a bit.

Well, it depends on how you define best. Because anyone who has watched the Jets this year would tell you that Favre is clearly not the best QB in the league this year. After week three, I would say the same thing about Rivers.

Statistically Rivers may be #2, but he put up big numbers his first few weeks and has quickly come back down to earth. His first three weeks he had 9 TDs (with three TDs in each game) and 1 INT. His last two weeks he has 2 TDs and 2 INTs. The last two games, he completed 56% and 46.4% of his passes for 180 yards and 159 yards. In his first three games he never completed less than 63% of his passes or for under 217 yards.

Again, this is why I hate people using stats as an argument at this point in the season. A few great or horrible games can skew the stats way out of whack.

Whichever Belichick decides. He will take away something.
