I picked the Chargers :(

In my weekly pool, I just picked the Chargers. It pained me to do it, but I just don't see this defense stopping them and us putting up enough points to keep up. At least I can take solace in the win-win of the situation no matter what the outcome.

Have you watched the Chargers recently. Their o-line is shakey at best. LT is hobbled. Philip Rivers has fallen off. Their defense cannot apply pressure.

They may pull it together this week, But if they play the way they played the last two week, I think the Pats win pretty easily.

I still don't get how people still look at teams like the Chargers and Colts as if they are still last year's teams and bury the Pats. I understand downgrading the offense because of the loss of Brady, but the defense? Just because the Pats' defense struggled in one game in four games?

Phillip Rivers' knee may still be bothering him and now he has bruised ribs too; Tomlinson has been slowed down by his toe and Gates has a hip injury; their top receiver Chris Chambers is probably out next Sunday; and to top it all off they still have Norv Turner as their Head Coach.

We have sent the Chargers home from the playoffs 2 consecutive years and because of our team they fell short of the Super Bowl the past 2 seasons

They now view a Brady-Less Patriots squad as a beatable team and this may very well be the game they circled on the calendar in the offseason and may be the Super Bowl for them

I expect 120% performance for the bolts this weekend and its going to take a 130% effort to beat them IMO.

People keep saying this is a must win for the Chargers. How many times we have to hear that? How bout the Pats, they need this game too BIG time with a very good Denver team coming into Foxboro next Monday night.

I have a feeling Cassel plays his best game of the season under the lights but the D will disappoint, yet the Pats pull it out 34-31. Sproles will have a few big returns, LT will get shutdown, and the SD receivers will be wide open all night.

Um...their down a couple of superstar starters to our one... If anything they should have a false sense of security waiting to turn the lights out, but I think they are so concerned about themselves and how badly they have screwed up to date even they don't know what to think...

And for the record, they've sent themselves home moreso than anything we've done to them. That's the problem with that team, and they're still looking for the answer to why that happens. And all they know so far is it wasn't Marty...

lol, I'm not a troll or a traitor, you can look at how long I've been on this forum and what I've posted over the years. This is just honestly the first time I have picked against our team in about 5 years. I have no idea what is going on with the defense, and I just am not convinced about Matt Cassel. I'm the first one to say I hope I'm wrong, but I just figured, if my money is on the line, I would go with my gut feeling, and then be pleasantly surprised if we can pull it out!

With the way our D is playing, versus LT, Sproles, Rivers, Gates... I think we are going to need to put up at least 30 points. It's going to be the toughest test so far for sure.
