Any good RB's gonna be around in the 2nd or 3rd?

I know its way earlier but I really feel like a RB should be our 2nd or 3rd round pick this year, Maroney can't really cut it, he's shown some flashes here and there but he's injury prone and not effective as a lead back, assuming Morris and Jordan are gone after this year and we have just Faulk and LoMo who are the prospects that would be in our range?

Morris is signed through 2010; unless he misses significant time this year, I doubt he's going anywhere next season--which reduces the need for an early RB.

Toss those rankings in the trash.

Lots of mistakes there.

Charles Scott at LSU, Glen Coffee at Alabama and Donald Brown at UConn could be good 3rd round pickups.

McCoy, Mmoreno and Wells will go perhaps first round.

Of the next best, those names above are the guys I would go for.

I like Kaczur. I think he's pretty good. I'm not sure you can find a better RT in the draft unless you're drafting higher. That doesn't mean that there will be no better RTs, but the chances are you won't find a better one anywhere you'er picking.

I'm not a big fan of taking a WR in the first round unless it's a "sure thing"... and even then you just never know (see David Terrel, Charles Rogers, etc.)

I think our OL needs some fresh blood and at worst some depth now and in the future. I wouldn't stretch to take an O-Lineman, but if there's a good one there I'd like to see it.

If we're going to go defense, I think another safety would be the priority. Harrison can't keep going forever, and there's only so many years left to groom his replacement before he's gone. Plus, having Meriweather and a new young safety side by side for several years is the kind of strength up the middle I like to see.

I think our two second rounders are really going to look good this coming draft, as we have many areas we can improve going forward.

I feel like there are plenty of running backs available in every draft. I do not think that RB is one of our weakeness though. I think we will focus on DB, LB and OL this year. Plus, if I am not mistaken, we have our First Round, our 2nd Rounder, and the Falcons 2nd rounder, along with the rest of our picks. So we should, if we draft well, be able to upgrade and get younger at a few positions. I think OG, OT, CB and MLB are the positions we will look to upgrade.

This is illogical.

Draft a RB in the 3rd because Maroney isn't that good. HE was drafted in the 1st. So what guarantee is there on a 3rd rounder? Even less than a 1st rounder, by definition.

I would prefer O-Line and D-Line with our first three picks (1) First round and (2) in the Second.

Protecting Brady is now the most important part of the Patriots Off-Season agenda. IMO

I have to agree with him on tight end though as long as it is the prototype tight end who is great at blocking. We're really missing Kyle Brady this year. And my list would go like this:

1. OL
2. Tight End
3. Safety
4. CB/LB (whichever appears to need the most depth by year's end)

I guess where we differ is my goal would be to not need a "great" blocking TE because that prototype you desire is as costly as a Moss. I'd rather spend my day 1 picks on the LOS and see if my healthy existing day 1 athletes couldn't then perform as previously projected as a result.
