Lester ... Perhaps Bay

Personally i give it to Varitek. Throw away the average i dont care. He won that series the way he managed the staff. Do you think Lester does as well as he did without him? Dont think so. The guy brings the intangables that a championship team needs. Without him it would be 90 years without a championship

those are my second and third.
maybe im being a goober by picking varitek i mean tough to pick a guy with only what 2 hits??? i just love what he brings i just dont see how they win this series without him and thats what defines MVP

hes not flashy but he does the job what more can you ask

If catchers were judged only on their play behind the plate, there's no question in my mind that Varitek would be a HOFer.

Nobody because they don't award MVP's for the ALDS. haha

Seriously though, Lester. Bay deserves it as well but I'll take pitching any day.

Lol i was waiting for someone to say that hahaha
so consensus says lester or bay... (i guess is stand alone with varitek ahaha) so lets disclude those 3 who would be 4th on your guys list?? little more intriguing who stands out?

Lester, 14 inning, no earned runs, hes our stud. Look out Tampa Bay

Lester.

But my knee-jerk response would be Tek saving the series with his tag.

Ellsbury for sure.

Great team win! The Sox showed their depth and versatility. Besides the 3 J's- Lester, Tek & Bay, look at the contribitions from Jacoby, Jed, J-Pap & the others whose 1st names don't begin with J-Youk, Kotsay, Papi & all the rest.

I'm stoked. I feel really good about the Tampa series. Bring 'em on!

I really liked how Kotsay played today especially in the field hes gonna be a big part of this post season now with no lowell he looks like he can do it forsure

im excited to i think the Rays are alot like the angels (small ball and speed) i think we have better starters but they have better Pen
it will be interesting home field is gonna be big i think

One more J: though this wasn't his series til we needed a big hit, watch for Justin to wear out the Rays.

The pen was excellent. And so was the D-only one error in 4 games.

Anyone else notice Heidi looks real good soaked in champagne, mmmmmm

Julio Lugo hands down.

Oh, that's easy... the GM of the Minnesota Twins :D

We spent a lot of time last winter writing about Boston’s alleged interest in Johan Santana. It’s interesting now watching some of the players the Red Sox allegedly made available in those alleged trade talks taking on vital roles in the postseason.

Remember, the Twins could have allegedly had Jon Lester or Jacoby Ellsbury — but not both — with Justin Masterson and Jed Lowrie in either deal as alleged throw-ins.
