Just dropped by to wish you guys luck. This upcoming game was actually the one I was looking most forward to this year. But, now that Tom Brady is out for the season, and the Chargers suck big time, thanks to Norv Turner screwing up the team, I don't care that much anymore about this game. In fact, I kind of hope that the Patriots win, so that we can finally get rid of Norv Turner. The more games he loses this season, the more likely he won't be coming back next season. Then we can get a coach who actually knows how to use a team with this much talent. Anyways, good luck on Sunday. You probably won't be needing any luck since the Chargers suck so much.

I have a feeling we're going to need the luck, something tells me that LT and company have some long, lingering payback in mind for Sunday night. Try and go easy on our shiny new QB please.

Don't worry about the 2-3 start, we've seen that act last year and look how things turned out for you guys, a trip to the Razor for the AFCCG. You have the same team, you just need to get LT and Gates healthy, once that happens, you're as good as any team in the AFC.

If Matt Cassel walks out of SD with a victory Sunday night, then the stars must be aligned, but to be frank, it's probably not likely.............

well..we will take the good luck but i think your team is too talented to continue like this. i foresee this a very difficult game for the pats and would pleasantly surprised if they pull it off.

Even when LT and Gates become healthy, I don't think we'll become good. The problem with Norv Turner is that he's too inconsistent. For instance, for the first 3 games of the season Philip Rivers was on fire, and lead all quarterbacks in the league for that stretch, and the past two games he hasn't done well. Nothing has changed in that regard in my opinion except for Norv Turner's inability to gameplan for different defenses. He keeps coming with the same predictable offense and teams have figured him out. He's not living up to his reputation as an "offensive guru".

i agree, this won't be any walk in the park for the Pats. The Chargers are likely the most talented team they've faced yet. Although, I have a feeling LT will say something stoopid during the week to rile up the Pats. "now they don't have Brady, now they're nothin' " unless he's said something already that I've missed..

I doubt he will. After just losing to last year's worst team, LT and the rest of the Chargers will probably keep their mouths shut for at least a few weeks. They tend to talk trash and become arrogant anytime we're on a winning streak. I love LT, but he talks too much trash for my taste. He needs to keep his mouth shut. Rivers talks trash on the football field, but he's very polite off the field when he's talking to reporters about other teams, whereas LT is the opposite.

good to see you again...you're one of the few opponent fans who always has interesting things to say and who is neither trolling nor obnoxious...

i honestly don't know what to think of this game...both teams have the talent to play well and both have also stunk...i see that we are 5 1/2 point dogs to you, and that's probably fair...and, i worry that the chargers will be superpissed about losing to the dolphins...so it might be a long afternoon...

...damn shame that neither team is at full strength...but that's football i guess...

True. This game would have been great if Tom Brady was healthy and so were LT, Gates and Shawne Merriman. It would have been a matchup of the best two teams in the NFL. I would have liked to have the Chargers beat a healthy Patriots team, since you guys have had our number in recent years. But, I guess we'll have to wait till next year for that matchup.

I don't know what the hell happened with the Chargers. I had them picked to beat the Pats even with Tom Brady. I think the Chargers will win, will be incredibly motivated. Perhaps even Tomlinsen will focus on playing and winning, perhaps Norv will put together a killer gameplan to destroy the Pats as they come off this two week stint in California.

I hope the Pats win, but I'm biting my nails and don't expect them to.

Thanks for the note.

frankly your team lacks leadership .even last yr when things werent going well and everyone was blaming norv turner , even LT and others blamed him . No one on your team has the clout to stand up and ask everyone to shut up and play. When LT whines, everyone in the team follows because they think he is the leader showing the way.Norv turner isnt a bad coach . he has his issues but overall the chargers are a team who think they are privileged to win every game just because they are talented than others and when they dont they make excuses.

I agree that LT hasn't been the best example of a team leader. That's why I prefer that Rivers take that role and he's doing so now that he's emerged as an elite QB in the league. I've yet to see Rivers pout when losing, yell at his teammates or blame his coach for any problems. He's also a really tough SOB, as evidenced by his performance in the AFCC game last year when he played on a torn ACL and how he talks trash to opposing teammates that are much bigger than him. So, I'd prefer it if the media stopped focusing so much on LT and making him out to be the leader of the team and instead focus on Rivers, who is a much better role model in that regard. LT is still the most talented running back in the league, but he's not the best team leader in my opinion.

i worry that brady won't be himself for at least some part of next year either...Tiger Woods has said that he won't be in his full form as a golfer until 2010...this is a big injury for a QB...it's costing him a year and more of his prime...

iam not sure about that. maybe he has learnt now but the first time i heard him was telling the pats to act like they have been there before and calling hobbs the sorriest corner in the league after losing.
he maybe a tough guy and a good QB, but you dont want his teamates follow his lead and jaw and openly yell at fans.

Rivers had the same injury and he's playing better this year than he was last year. I think Brady will come back physically healthy by the start of the season. The only question will be what his mental state will be. If he comes back fearless, like Rivers did, then he will be the same old Tom Brady, and probably even better in many ways. But, if he's afraid of getting hit, and won't step into his throws because of it, then he will perform badly such as Carson Palmer and Donovan McNabb did when they came back from their knee injuries. So, as long as Brady doesn't play scared, he should be fine.

He's stopped talking trash to the fans, ever since he got some heat for it last year and Norv told him to stop doing it. However, he's still talking trash to other plays, and I don't see anything wrong with that. I like a QB who isn't afraid to get into opponents faces or talk trash. I would rather have a QB with a firey deamor like Philip Rivers, rather than one who is gumpy like Eli Manning.

Manning has a ring, so his style works in his environment. Rivers is out there like a kid on Ritalin, and he needs to mellow out if he wants to take that team on his shoulders and become the team leader that most quarterbacks should be.

Stand by your team. Don't be like those here who only root when "their" team wins, and whine when they lose. They even whine when their team is 3-1 because they aren't winning 52-10.

It's your team, even when/if they suck. Some one us here sat through some God Awful Patriot seasons where "Any Given Sunday" did not apply to us.

But we rooted for our team, through bad times and good.

Do the same. Be a fan. (Just do it on a Chargers board :) )

That's just his personality. He's always been like that. You can't expect a guy to change his personality. Also, if it helps him play better than I would rather not tell him to tone it down. Some guys play better with chaotic emotions, such as Rivers, whereas some guys play better when they're cool and level headed like Brady. It depends on what they like.

Thanks for the advice. I am a fan and I do root for the Chargers, which is why I think firing Norv Turner would help the team. If he can win a super bowl this year, then I will change my mind about him, but other than that I still won't be sold on him.

thanx for dropping in, guy...I won't be completely up to speed on the SD fan mindset until Michargers and Pao weigh in though....where are ya, boys?
