1) People can praise the team, without being a homer!
2) People can criticize the team, without being a troll!

It's seems like every thread I browse here, there's a bunch of users getting into ridiculous "You're a troll! Well you're a homer!" arguments that really just lead to a downward spiral. It's getting to tiresome to read.

Let's try to evolve from name calling and possibly move on to using the ignore feature. We now return to your regularly scheduled threads.

No team runs perfectly and no team runs totally pathetic (well maybe the Lions and Raiders)

No one has the right to say you are right or wrong - Its all opinions

No one here has any more inside info on the team than others do except for what they read in the papers,find on stat sheets and see on TV or hear on the radio.

BB is far from god and screws up like humans do

Some just don't get it and live in the years of 2001-2004 and think the past is always present - Its different now,teams have started to copycat the Patriots of the past and thats why parity is what it is this year and may be so in the not to distant future

Finding nothing wrong and dwelling on success or failure in the past is NOT normal,even the biggest homer should have some objectivity in thier soul or they are kidding no one but themselves.

Of course what we feel or think is wrong or right in here means sh!t to the organization - they could care less.

There is a world of difference between being a blind homer who broaches no criticism, a moronic basher who wants to trade players on a game by game or play by play basis and an actual intelligent fan interested in rational discussion...

Threads and posts framed around the premise that someone is worthless or sucks or the age old BB isn't god or this teams season/dynasty are ovah aren't looking for intelligent reparte. So they don't get it. They either get escalating arguments that deteriorate into namecalling as participants patience wears out or they get mocked for even going down that path.

In other words, it is what it is. Kneejerk posts adn attitudes beget kneejerk responses and attitudes. The only alternative Ian provides to that scenario is the ignore feature and human nature being what it is that just won't cut it because it smacks of letting offenders get away with making moronic statements.

I can say from experience that when I first joined here the atmosphere was different, and while there were always strong points of view people actually listened to and learned from each others divergent points of view and were willing to consider factual arguments. When people come here who believe they know it all and flat out refuse to even listen to reason, that atmosphere disappears amidst a crush of people who believe this place exists as an outlet for them to spew any old venimous opinion unchallenged. Most of us don't come here to suffer those kinds of fools. We come here to keep track of and discuss OUR team constructively.

I still say the answer is a seperate assclown forum... Maybe Ian could put some lipstick/perfume on it to suck them in and call it the F-This Lounge...where the objective realists could go to ream this disappointing team and elaborate to their hearts content on how it's staff and different players flat out suck and disgust them...

Then the rest of us could just have rational football discussions here on the main board rather than embarassing each other and this team and quite frankly Ian (although I get that website traffic is apparently like that old saying about no bad publicity...).

It is funny. I have been on MANY forums in the last 10+ years and it's always zealot arguments. You're just a homer, you're just a troll. You're a righty, you're a lefty. You're a Mac fanboy, you're a PC fanboy. It always the same thing.

I think it is pretty clear who the true trolls are and who the fans are.

You can follow this team, living and dying with them and criticize or praise all you want. The trolls are easy to pick out of the line up because their being is to try to get a reaction to what they say or to piss people off.

I think we should form a troll committee made up from the VIP membership. The troll committees function would be to act as judge and jury for suspected troll offenders and recommend they be banned by the moderators.
