Gost has got to be the best value for money on the team at the moment.

I meant based on what they are doing today. Vinatieri has been dreadful this season. Considering how many FG's we have kicked this year, we could be 1 - 3 based on Adam's track record this year.

Not to bring up things, but what didnt Belichick bring him on to kick that 45 yrd against the Giants instead of the pats going for it on 4th down in the SB last yr... I like Ghost, and has come along way and we dont miss Adam, but if he is this good, he would have been good last yr.. Sorry still having flashbacks:banned:

The winning points came on a 31-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski with 1:10 left. That capped a 72-yard drive highlighted by a 49-yard pass to Caldwell, who left the Chargers as a free agent after last season.

More importantly, this isn't even the biggest kick he made in that game. I sincerely believe that if he hadn't made the 50-yarder at the end of the first quarter--when the Patriots were struggling to get anything going (two three and outs, and the third drive only went 30ish yards)--the result would have been something like San Diego 31 New England 10.

In addition to a perfect 10-for-10 on field goals, Gostkowski is the best KO man in the league so far this season, with a whopping 42.9% TB rate and an average return of just 21.0 yards.

Ditto. It's easy to say that we'd rather have Gostkowski now, he is clearly the better athlete and has a long career ahead of him. BUT, you gotta wonder what the outcome of last year's SB would be if we still had THE most clutch postseason kicker of all time waiting on the bench.
