Is the 3-4 commentators I've already heard (and I don't watch a lot of highlights) saying that the direct snap to Faulk was us copying the Dolphins.

Um . . . I guess they haven't watched many of our games the past decade. Morons.

On a similar note, I was stuck with the Chargers/Dolphins game out here in SoCal today, and they kept running the same wildcat formation (direct snap to ronnie brown, ricky williams in at RB, pennington at WR), I think 4 times in the first half, and the commentators were losing it over how unheard of the formation was. You'd think that the Dolphins hadn't run it a bunch of times just two weeks earlier.

What about Tom Jackson, who said (and you have to listen carefully because they were going to commercial) that the Pats won with "SMOKE AND MIRRORS". What a horse's patoot!

i can think of at least twice when they did it, the super bowl against the panthers and in the playoffs against the chargers in jan 07

And several more - of course, the ones you mention weren't big games when these national announcers maybe would have been watching

I was flipping channels and herd that, what a ass.. I dont know what to say anymore that has not been said about Tom Jackson, he just hates the Pats and Belichick..

Him, and all of the other mediots, will never be happy until BB retires, the pats go 0 - 16, and the Manning brothers win the next 10 SB's....

we won the first 2 SB like that..i will take it.

Something like 5 minutes before the direct snap was used in the Super Bowl, I was thinking:

1. If the Pats scored, they'd go for 2.
2. If they went for 2, they'd use the direct snap play, because it seemed to be automatic for about 3 yards.

I remember from subsequent discussion that a number of you reported having similar thoughts.

THAT'S how prominent the play is in the Pats' scheme.

Smoke and mirrors......he must me smoking something for sure....

Heck, I'll take 3-1 without Brady any way I can get it. Smoke and mirrors, blood and guts, salt-n-pepa, it's all good.

I caught this too and you can hear the other guys start laughing as if to say, here we go again with the Patriot hater.

True they don't know what they are commenting about...who cares though...

yeah i heard on espnews as well.whenever these idiots hear a catchy word like singlewing or wildcat they think they know what they are talking about.

It must be killing people that we are 3-1.

When I saw the play (no audio) I wondered if someone would comment that the play was Dolphin inspired. Ignorant on a couple of levels.

The Patriots are 3-1 w/o Brady and the Chargers are 2-3. Who would have thought that going into this week? But I suppose the advantage is to the Chargers because they can just see what the Dolphins do and know that we will copy it. Damn those Dolphins for running that WR Screen! We were going to use it.

I hope if the phins keep running that play some team does what I think BB should have in that game - when they flank chad out at WR line up an AD type across from him with instructions to ignore all else and just focus on thumping chad inside the 5yd zone. Would roughing the passer still apply in that case? Who knows who cares, if they gonna hang their qb out there naked then take full advantage d%#*!@t
