I'm not anti-Cassel, in case you've forgotten, but I'm surprised how much sourceless journalism is allowed to pass on sites that want to have any sort of reputation.

The Way We Hear It - NFL pro football rumors and insider news from Pro Football Weekly

There’s a growing faction in Foxborough that believes rookie QB Kevin O’Connell should be considered for the starting job if Matt Cassel continues to struggle. Having started four years at San Diego State, O’Connell’s playing experience actually trumps Cassel’s, and his teammates have perhaps more trust in him than they do in Cassel, a fourth-year Patriot. As one team source told us, “You know (the players) aren’t crazy about Matt when the best they say about him is that he’s ‘enthusiastic.’ No team wants a glorified cheerleader running their offense.”

Controversy, gossip, rumor and innuendo sells. Besides, it takes a lot less effort than viewpoints based on your own original in depth analysis.

Remember guys, They HATE Their Coach!!!

I guess if they call me and ask me for an opinion i am a source.

Belichick must not have control over the floor sweeper ... he's talking and getting paid for it.

Sigh...the media just loves to make things up.

Continues to struggle ? I'm sorry, but I think that applies to the defense after that Miami game then it does Cassel ! Against the SF, Cassel showed he could hit Moss on the deep ball ! But also, he needs better protection if he's going to do that on a regular basis, that could be presnap reads ( knowing when the defense is going to pin their ears backs or not and adjust the play ) I'm not sure Kevin O’Connell would be the better choice at this point, but I suspect, he's the Patriots starting QB of the future !

Cassel is playing well enough, he helped guide the offense on a few time consuming drives that ended with the Pats scoring.

30 points isn't bad, granted it's SF, but let's see what happens over the next couple of weeks. Keep in mind, the next 2 games, the Pats defense had best show up, if not, Brady at his best wouldn't be able to help them !

That team source was probably Briz.
