Brady grew up in San fran. A big 49ers fan. Unless Brady is still a Patriot in 2016 he will never get a chance to play on his" home field" as a pro.I bet he was looking forward to playing there.

I was thinking about this the other day

Maybe even limping and all ,he will find his way out to the bay and catch the week with his teammates and check out the house he just bought and a little time with the son who I think is in that area

Would not be surprised for Tom to spend some time in the locker room this week, even if its out west

Glad someone else thought of it also. I was thinking people would think it was childish.

There are plenty of know-it-alls in this forum who are pathetictly hostile against other members calling them childish and stuff like this and it is an embarrassment to Patriots fans nationwide but the only thing you can do is just brush it off like flicking lint or dandruff off your shoulder and pay no attention to those who disagree and insult - Your post was not childish and if people thought it was,who fu(king cares what they think anyway?.

a shame ........

I think its a shame for Brady to miss it and also a shame that this was supposed to be an easier game than it looks now with Cassel making it a much closer and competitive game so its a shame on all accounts.

:) Great post.

I take it you are not one of the "real" Patriot fans. There are only about 7 - 9 "real" Patriot fans on the site. They ruin it for the rest of us.

Its to bad Tom will never get to play in his hometown.

Yeah,I get a kick out some some of these brain mongers who say because I say Cassel blows doggie nuts that I am not a real fan.

Well in my 30 years of watching and rooting for the team I must have spent $10,000 on Patriots merchandise much of which was spent during the lean years in the 90s so the naysayers against me can always kiss my (insert body part here).

Belichick screwed this season by not preparing to do in the offseason what he did years ago (Flutie,Huard,Testeverde) and get a professional athlete to take over QB if Brady got hurt and this year that had high potential to be another serious SB run looks like the price will be paid for not having a vet QB and a High Schooler as starter at the most important position in professional football

Of course I will still have hopes of a championship like all others because each and every Patriots season is a huge part of my yearly existence, but 99% of those SB hopes died in 5 minutes of the very first game.

I never thought that Brady would get hurt, I am surprised that Belichick felt the same way.

You never should take for granted that Brady is after all a human being which means not injury-free althoguh he appeared to not be human at times with his greatness and appeared to be immortal in some games where he pulled victory from defeat.
Cassel must be such a great guy that his personality overshadows his talents because I simply think the talent there is limited, thats why he is a QB game MANAGER - Not a leadership QB

Sorry to highjack this thread - Move on and forward with the SF/Brady discussion

I'm going to that game and was looking forward to seeing Brady in Candlestick... and was looking forward to the epic hookup of Brady and Moss... but I guess I'll have to wait now. Either I'll have to take a trip to Boston some time or venture into the Black Hole when they play Oakland in Oakland.

Well, let's not count it out just yet. The current schedule is only set to run through the end of next season. It is possible there'll be a change that lets it happen. Of course, it's also possible Brady will still be QB in 2016. :)

Who says Brady won't retire as a 49er in about 5 years from now?,It makes for an intriguing situation down the road

Thanks. But the thought of Brady in another uniform is not helping. Although the thought of Brady out of uniform does help.:p

Not that there's anything wrong with that .....

sorry if this was already mentioned. Apparently, SF passed up on him the 2000 draft. Brady was ticked. I'm sure he would have liked to have hung 30+ points on the niners.

no!!!! don't go into the black hole. you'll never come out!!!!!

Brady getting hurt really dampened the mood from some of his friends, family and fans in the Bay. I'm going with a guy that went to school with Brady and being on the West coast, I don't get too many chances to see the Pats/Brady play too much. Its all good though... hope the recovery goes well.

Are you going to the game in your backyard in 2 weeks?

not likely, but not impossible. he wants to play for quite some time so it still may happen some time down the road. kinda sucks that brady never got to play one whole game this year, i was counting on him playing 19
