lets see here...

we beat the chiefs, who are going to beat an undefeated denver team...

this same denver team scored like 40 pts a game so far, the chiefs D kept em to under 20...

we beat the jets, who just scored 56 on arizona...we kept that defense to the teens if i am correct....

which means our offense and defense arnt quite that bad :D

Yeah, this sure is headed for being a kookie day in the NFL. Can't wait to see the rest of the scores when it's all over.

All it means is you never know who's going to show up on Sunday. Getting a consistent 30+ points last year was a real luxury.

Agreed... Pats fans (myself included) have gotten spoiled with the offensive display from last year. How quickly we forget the difficulties this team had scoring the year before with Caldwell being one of Brady's targets.

Remember all of the threads about "Brady is showing no passion", "Brady is upset when BB traded his binky branch to Seattle"

It's called perspective, which has been in short supply here this week...

I look at it this way... we lost Tom Brady and now we're (based on record) about middle of the pack, maybe a little higher. As our QB gets some experience we will improve, and I think we could make the playoffs if not win the division, but not like we did so comfortably last year.

If most teams lost their starting QB they either would sink like a stone or are already near the bottom so there's not so far to fall. There are no guarantees of course, but even after last week I still think the Pats will be okay. They just had a stinker of a game last week- nothing more, nothing less.

You, sir, get my vote for rookie of the week

I wont feel any better until we have a QB that can put up more then 21 points.

Bills, Jets, Titans, Chargers and the Jaguars all won today.

Only loss I was happy with was Chiefs over Broncos. Overall a bad day in terms of teams I was rooting for.

we were rooting for the same teams then...

but if u read my OP, that is now the details i was referring to

I was never all that worried prior to this week. I need to see the Patriots play poorly more than one week for me to be too concerned.

I look at the NFL and I don't see too many teams that I would consider anywhere close to elite.

this year?

i do not see ANY teams i would consider elite...

the skins arent that good, yet they played the giants to OT, and then beat the boys...

and the titans have that defense, but no offense...

is any other team unbeaten so far?

no need to mention the ravens....

and the bills complete the list of unbeatens...and i think we can take the bills D, and win the trench battle agaisnt them as well...

no one this season is an elite team...which gives us a damn good chance of 18-1

I'd feel alot better if the Bills werent 4-0

that is true...but hey, they are up and coming, and they finally find a QB to replace jim...

so let em at it...i dont think they can stand up to us, and the two loses we will give em (hopefully) i think will gaurantee us the division

Maybe record wise it seems daunting that there 4-0 but they should have lost to the Raiders and trailed for most of the Rams game until they were sparked by a pick 6 by Greer in the 4th qtr today. I'll give it to them they found a way to pull these games out but they haven't played anyone in the division yet. They are @ ARI and then have a BYE and after that they play vs SD in Buffalo before playing a string of three consecutive division games @ MIA, vs NYJ and then us @ Gillette. Lots of games left to play don't sweat it.

On the positive side is the Bills really haven't beaten anyone. The Seahawks (who I think will be a major disapointment this year) with no wide receivers and a banged up Hasselbeck and a Jags with no offensive line were the only remotely good teams they faced. If the Jags were at full strength, I don't know if the Bills beat them either.

After the Cards (who have the homefield advantage), they have the Chargers and then three divisional games in a row. I think we will know exactly how good the Bills are after that stretch. I think they are a legitimate AFC East contender, but they may be looking better than they are based on their competition so far. they did barely beat the Raiders and the Jags and were behind the Rams for most of the game today eventhough the Rams wanted their coach fired.

The team just needs to keep fighting, let the rookies (especially Mayo) gain as much experience as they can. If we can do that and come out 6-4, 7-3 after week 11, we're doing pretty well. I'm thinking the team starts to really gel and pieces start falling into place second half of the season. I honestly don't see 11-5 being to much of a stretch and that should get us in to the playoffs. Time will tell and I hope I'm right.

I love the optimism, but you're reaching. Teams are going to match up differently with each other than their record suggests. The Chiefs and Jets winning today means *nothing* in terms of how good the patriots are. We played good defense against the Jets, and one play away from losing to the Chiefs.

I need to see a solid , well rounded effort from this team before I'm putting them in the playoffs, I could care less about what they've done the past 7 years. Almost like the idiot lemmings that booed the team in Gillette , but different.
