is casserly's job to weekly find patriots violations ? has no other team violated this before ? didnt porter kick the ball during pre game warmups during the first game in miami.

After BB called him out a year or two ago, this is his way of "getting back" at the Pats.

Re: Casserly:patriots violated pregame rules ?

Yea, I saw that, pretty interesting, memo said where the kickers could warm up and not to incite the crowd pre game,

The Memo went to all 32 teams and the Pats were not fined.

Re: Casserly:patriots violated pregame rules ?

This league is QUICKLY becoming ridiculous. I mean, SERIOUSLY, we can't excite the crowd before a kickoff?

I tell you what - lets just play all the fricking games at a neutral site, and broadcast the game to the home teams stadiums on the jumbotron. Lets just remove 'home field advantage' completely.

This current administration (Goodell being the ringleader) is starting to cause me to slowly lose interest in the league. Can't we just let them play some damn football, without a 'memo' being sent every week about some stupid supposed infraction?

Re: Casserly:patriots violated pregame rules ?

Ask Charlie. He knows everything.

He was also saying sh!t about the Pats week one when he was talkign about the leagues "anti spying" rules put in place. I am sure those rules were only put in place because of one guy, too.

Re: Casserly:patriots violated pregame rules ?

I think the league wants to avoid those pre-game brawls that are so common in college football.

Re: Casserly:patriots violated pregame rules ?

This just in:

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is pondering a rule change that would require both teams to join hands at the 50 yrd line prior to kickoff and sing kumbaya my Lord in 4 part harmony.

Any fan caught violating the required moment of silence during this choral display of happy time will be ejected. Season ticket holders will have them revoked. The home team will lose a first round draft pick.

Caserly is a total sh-t who has managed to get fired from atleast 2 NFL teams after accomplishing nothing.

I am one of the small group of people (there's maybe three of us) who think that Casserly's pick of Mario Williams with the first overall choice wasn't that bad of an idea. However, that's only because Williams has turned out to be a good player and not a total bust. Casserly wasn't fired from that job, but I doubt they begged him to stay either.

As for the "inciting the crowd against the kicker thing", I hadn't heard of it before. I can see the logic, but agree this stuff is getting pretty silly. Also had it been any of the other 31 teams, I doubt Charlie would have mentioned it on TV.

Re: Casserly:patriots violated pregame rules ?

Casserly is a notorious Patriots hater. He was basically outed as the source of the NY Times article as the former Rules Committee Member who claimed there has been more rules change based on the Patriots than any other teams.

Casserly is still probably pissed off that he didn't get the Pats' GM job back in 1991.

Re: Casserly:patriots violated pregame rules ?

what was this all about?

Late in the 2006 season (I think) Casserly made a comment about BB and the Pats. At a presser the following week someone asked Belichick about it and he replied, "You should ask Charley Casserly, he seems to know everything" or something to that effect. Since then it has seemingly been open season on Belichick for Casserly.

I'll see if I can find it.

Re: Casserly:patriots violated pregame rules ?

Found it, from an old Reiss blog in December 2006.
When a reporter told Belichick that his opinion was valued by him, Belichick stopped his thought and laughed. Belichick urged the reporter to check with others.

"Again, that's one of those things that I don't have any control over -- do you want replay, do you not want replay? Pass interefernce at the point, or a 15-yard penalty? I would say go talk to the genuises who make the rules, because they are the ones who make it and they have all the answers. ... There are plenty of people on that committee and they love to talk about the rules they made and how great they are and all that. The Charley Casserly's of the world, who have all the answers to everything. Talk to them."

I have to admit, Casserly seemed to keep bringing up the whole stupid camera business during his weekly segment last year at times when it seemed like it had finally started to go away. Now I see he had an outside motive in keeping it on everybody's minds.

I believe that Belichick also took a shot at Casserly last year after one of Casserly's rants about the alleged cheating that the Patriots did. Belichick basically said that he doesn't care about Casserly's opinion and he's a guy on the outside looking in.

Basically Bill said the guy was insignificant and not worth talking about.

Yeah,I was watching the CBS pregame show a week or two ago, remember thinking Casserly seemed to go out of his way to bad mouth the Patriots.....just what we need ,another mediot who hates us,along with the jokers at ESPN....oh well...

Oh don't worry. By the end of this new witch hunt, we will loose our 1st and 2nd round picks, be fined 1 million and get kicked in the nuts....:scream:

Nah, I don't think this will get much traction. ESPN would be all over it if it had any kind of importance.

Just Charlie being a jealous b!tch.
