its been 49 weeks(if i heard it correctly) since the pats have not been on top of the east according to NFLN. i know its a dissappointing day but thats an impressive run.it also led me to thinking, past 7 yrs not only we have been lucky, lets face some luck has fallen our team's way during critical games-taking nothing away from their ability and game.so many teams havent been able to find a QB or a winning season or have had heart breaking loses. since the last 2 mins of the sb , things have taken a downward turn for the pats too .doesnt absolve them of their mistakes on the field but there is some law of averages in play here too.we just have been extremely lucky.

I thought you were gonna say 49 weeks until Brady starts a regular season game again for us :rocker:

It's also roughly 49 weeks until the 2009 opener...a day that cannot come soon enough.

The odds of winning 22 straight are not very good.

Yeah, I know about the SB - but the point is still valid. This isn't the Florida Gators versus the UMass Minutemen. Both the coaches and players on both teams are all very good or they wouldn't be here. In other words, just because an NFL team had a bad losing season the year before, it doesn't mean they are not capable of beating you this week.

In the last 83 regular-season games (going back to 2003), the Pats have had winning streaks of 21 and 18 games.

To give you an idea how improbable this is: do you know how many QBs in the NFL have had two streaks of 12 regular season games?

Only one.
