Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

This kid looked AMAZING! He just has IT! I can tell just by his pocket presense. To me, he looks like the next Dan Fouts. Now is the time to make the switch. Cassell is a big loser, O'Connell NEVER would have lost this game.

O'Connell! O'Connell! O'Connell!!

* In case somebody takes this seriously...
.I'M KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh. :)

Seriously, though, I do like what little I've seen so far from O'Connell.

Re: Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure you are kidding? Maybe you just want to fit in.

Re: Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

Funny enough I did think Kevin looked kinda calmer out there than Cassel. I think he is worth a look. Of course the score was 38-13.

Re: Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

Cassel seems to have that deer in the headlights look far too often. I expect a QB to be signed or traded for this week.

Re: Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you but think its too early to play him. If we are 5-8 later in the year than Yes, give him the experience.
Right now our OL is bad and wouldn't stick him in there.
What happened to our OL?

Re: Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

Oh...NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for mocking this idea before someone else took it seriously :)

Re: Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

I think he looked pretty good there in that last drive of the game. The way he rolled out and instead of trying something crazy, got a nice 4 yard gain, he showed me something positive.

hahahaha no way keeep him..... what's wrong no brady and the team fall's apart hehehehehehehhehehe. The entire NFL is enjoying the pat's fall from grace.

I expect the pressure will cause BB to blow a blood vessel by week 6.. then you will be BB less and brady less

Ummmm Ok. If you insist.

if we bench Cassel and start Oconnell i truely believe that we will be ok, and we will be able to win enough games to win the division. Oconnell is simply more talented than Cassel, just like Moss is more talented than Gaffney. He can make our offense dangerous imo, he has the ability to run with the football and buy time in the pocket, that will help our oline which is struggling without Neal. He doesnt telegraph his passes like Cassel, and he is more accurate. He will keep the other D hesitent, right now teams have no fear of Cassel. I dont care if he doesnt have any experience, throw him in there and let him play, we are gunna lose with Cassel anyways!

What i think happened today was the Pats just didnt get up to play the dolphins which is inexcusable, and the dolphins were really fired up to beat us. This is the same dolphins team that lost to the Jets who we beat! Why we beat the Jets? Because they are a threat in the division and we got fired up and took care of business, the D anyway, only let up 10 points, the O was still aweful but it was enough to win. The dolphins not being a threat in the division our D just wasnt in the game, they werent "bringing it". In my opinion the Pats will take care of business when we play the Bills (if OConnell is playing too) because they know they need to win. We are much better than what we showed today.

There has to be a change at QB or this team is toast, the D wont be able to win us every game this year.

Re: Kevin O'Connell must be the starter!!!!!!!!!

Someday O'Connell may get his chance, but it would be foolish to start him now.

Re: OConnell give us a better chance to win

Here's how i look at it. The Patriots have this thing called a depth chart and practices. The QB the coaching staff feels is the best at this position in this offense will be there.

They pretty much know what they are doing...they have won a couple trophies and have seen this kinda thing b4

WOW we lost a game we have to change our QB. This is football you win some lose some! with the d playing like that i doubt rady could have won that game!

Yeah. Just like we should've benched Brady after his last loss.

The season is young. Some of us actually remember times when we were capable of losing games - what, two years ago?

Here's why I want O'C to start. Every game he plays is an investment in the future. Every game that Cassel starts is throw away experience. It does the Pats no good long term. I think Cassel gives us the best chance to win short term. O'C is the best choice long term. Would be nice having the back up next year have 12 games of starting under his belt....

Now I understand how the other teams felt, always clamoring for the backup QB, while we had the always great Tom Brady. It reminds me of teams like Buffalo, who when they had Drew Bledsoe, wanted JP Losman to play, and then when Losman faltered, the fans wanted Trent Edwards. Now Edwards seems to be the answer, but whenever QB's lose, fans always want the backup.

That being said, Cassel certainly doesn't look like the answer. He seems to have no confidence in his own abilities. A great QB has to have that swagger, that confidence in his own abilities, and the little I've seen in O'Connell, he does seem confident, and since he comes from a college team with a poor line, he may actually be quite good behind a slightly above average line.

Bring on the OC, Cassell = a statue in the pocket and it takes him forever to make his progressions, at least OC can make those same progressions then pullit down and run. To many negative plays with Cassell back there. The line wasnt great but at least a scrambler can make a play vs taking a sack and fumbling.

There is always Gutierrez if we don't want to play O'Connell yet and no one wants Cassel.
