I've always suspected that at least part of the reason why the Jets went after Favre and threw so much money around this spring was to sell those overpriced PSLs. After recent events, there may not be enough "Masters of the Universe" left in NYC (sniff, sniff) to pay for all those PSLs. What happens if those PSLs go unsold?

They'll be sold. They do have a waiting list. And further not every seat for the Jets is a PSL. The Giants, however, do have a PSL on every seat.

I can't answer your question, I have no idea what the answer is, but I don't see this as an issue.

I'm sure they'd find something to do with them. Auction them off for charity for instance (ok, I can think of only one).

I don't think it'll happen though.

Jets are the 5th most valuable franchise in the NFL, Pats were #3 I think. According to Forbes.

They will sell every last seat available.

Is there a 2008 version?

This is from 2007

The new stadium moved them into the top 5.

For those that say Favre is all about PSL's, I agree.

Though if they don't they will fall back to the middle of the pack in the only thing that matters more than cap room when it comes to the business of fielding a football team - operating income.

Looks like the JETS may continue to lag somewhat in revenue in a shared facility where it will be hard to expand revenue streams through anscillary develoment. And they already seem to have some hefty debt to service...

New York Jets - It really Bugs me that they continue to mispell New Jersey.

How does this correlate when he's almost certainly a Jet for this season only?

Well, they were smart enough not to charge PSLs in the upper bowl. The lower bowl will be bought mostly by companies and the wealthy.

So I expect the Meadowlands to be rather quite for games when the new stadium opens. They are going to have a magnified issue that the Pats have where the club seats are ultra quite making the stadium more quite than the old one. I don't see Fireman Ed shelling out $25k for PSL in the 100 level seats.

We don't know for how long Brett will be a Jet, 1 year , 2 at most.

How I would like to correlate Brett and PSL's is, look at the hype for last weeks game compared to last year regular season games Jets Vs Pats.
Get the folks excited and believing that the team can compete and that should help sell PSL's

Those things get sold based on buzz. Woody was banking on Favre generating enough excitement/improvement that they would sell like hotcakes in late 2008 and throughout 2009...which he IS signed through for whatever that's worth. The stadium opens in 2010. The PSL's will have to be sold well before that. Moribound franchises don't sell PSL's.
